For about 4 days leading up to a Vegas trip, I can't eat. Seriously...like hardly at all. And then days like today, the day before, I can't eat anything. I'm starving and I go to take a bite of something....it just doesn't do it so I put it away.

By the time I get there and then start eating everything in sight (because, who can resist that many Vegas offerings?) and end up with a terrible tummy ache that I deal with all trip long. EVERY TIME.

I need to be put into a mental institution...to get this excited over going to Vegas! Anyone else as crazy as me?

Wow that's horrible. Maybe I get like that at the airport flying out? All I care about is having a drink before I get on the plane.

I have an issue where I crazy obsess over big exciting things coming up. We recently built a house and I obsessed daily for a year until we moved in. We booked Vegas in February and don't go until June (finally coming up) but I'm on this board every day because I'm SO EXCITED and I constantly Google about Vegas stuff daily. It's good to have stuff to look forward to in life but I'm sorry you can't eat!

I enjoy my Vegas trips but I don't get quite so worked up that I can't eat. Try to keep it in perspective, I guess.

I have never gotten to a point where I can't eat but I do get very excited the night before a Vegas trip and with all the adrenaline, I rarely get a very good night's sleep.

I don't eat everything in sight in Vegas - in fact I usually only eat two meals a day in Vegas (sometimes one if it's late enough) because I am on the go.

Wow that's some serious excitement. Do you ever have anxiety like that in any other parts of your life or related to events? Might be good to get a prescription for anxiety medication during periods like this... because not eating is a definite, risky problem.

I can't sleep the night before, which sucks, because I always take the 6am out, then with the time difference, it makes me exhausted the first day. I never tired sleeping pills the night before, but I will from now on.

There's not much that puts me off my food :). If you seriously can't eat during this period, I would suggest at least drinking down some protein shakes as meal replacements. Otherwise have the doctor give you something for anxiety. Good luck!

My wife and I both find that we can't eat as much when in Vegas. We usually go in the summer, so the combination of the heat and cocktails throughout the day just seem to kill our appetites.

You can't go to Vegas in a weakened condition like that. You need your nutrition and fuel. An athlete wouldn't do that the last 4 days before an event even if they were hurling. Do what you can to maintain nutrition. Switch to smoothies and meal replacement products if you have to.

Me too! I can't sleep the night before and made me very tired when it's time to fly out. So my fuel is caffeine every beginning of vegas trip and just got high on excitement when we land in Vegas. All the time!

Usually the night before I don't sleep very well but sadly, precious little affects my appetite. First morning in Vegas, I almost always wake in a fog thinking "where the hell am I?"

Sounds like Anxiety, I cant eat much when I am in Vegas its hard for me to relax and enjoy a good filling meal. So rather than fight it I just eat very small portions every 2hours. I am always snacking on fresh fruits and nuts to get my energy up. I wish I could sit down and enjoy a large filling meal but cant do it.

I'm the opposite. When I get excited or anxious I eat too much. I'm a pig. I'd recommend that you take meal shakes or at least a V-8 before you get sick. Try to relax (I know it's hard....it's Vegas!!)

The giggle loop comes from a great British comedy called Coupling. Watch it if you get the chance.

Usually the week before the trip I take extra precaution to eat right and get enough sleep to ensure I am health for the trip.
