I checked into the Riv, Tu, July 8 and out on Fri, July 11 rate is $15 pn plus taxes but no resort fee(s). The reason for no resort fee is because it was booked thru Marketing. This was not an offer I received thru the mail or email. The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable plus everything works. The best rate for me at the Orleans was the Summer Vacation Special $29 + which would have been about $40. So it wasn't worth it to me to pay the extra $25 pn to stay. As the Riv has everything I need. Would I stay again absolutely.

    Nice score!

How did you get the marketing offer?

I would used to think that was a great deal...but.

With my brother and I having TR card (not credit cards...just the one you insert into slots), and when we go together...we can get comped rooms, or really cheap at some CET places.

    We are low rollers!

But we could have got a FAB room Comped, or the base rooms at Harrahs, Quad. Instead we got a Go Room for an average of $35 + resort fee per-night. And although not as cheap as you scored...it's center strip and has a great pool.

For all those wanting to get low rates...try booking with your's and your traveling companions TR#...saves a bunch!

Another Riviera fan, I booked three nights for $19 per night last October, no resort fee. Got a room on the second floor overlooking an empty lot and the Peppermill. It was perfect for me, I was working a trade show and paying my expenses. It was a marketing offer as I had stayed there a two years earlier through Southwest and ran a few $$ through a slot machine. Room was clean, like an older Holiday Inn, comfy bed, completely unremarkable except for a great value.

Bernie, how is the pool? Did you get a chance to hit the lobby bar and grab a $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon? Or, a $3 Crown Royal and Ginger?

Yes, I did give them some play in the past and my offer was thru marketing even though most get there offers through mail/email. I do have another stay with them next week and glad I do Used the $1.00 coupons and got a Michelob Ultra and Miller Lite. The pool is great and found people there to be quite nice. The front desk people were great when anybody called for me or when I had a question. If, I were running the Riveria minor changes for the good which would give them higher occupancy put a coffee maker in the room with free coffee and a small microwave. They already have the small fridge so why not step it up a little more and throw in a paper (USA Today or Las Vegas Review & Journal) . Minimal expense for a much better return. IMHO
