Lets say you win 10k, when would you rather it happen?

Ok so if you hit for $10,000 on your next trip to Vegas, would you rather have it happen in the first hour of your trip or in the last hour right before you leave?

I would want it to hit in my first hour so I could use some or all during the trip. 10 g's isn't going to change my life at all at home but it would make for a more enjoyable weekend!
    :peace:

I'm assuming that the hit would come from a slot. I know there are lots of you on here that win or lose 10000 at the tables and it doesn't effect anything. Lets assume this is a I'm bored waiting for something so I stick in a $20 and BOOM! extra money.

I'd rather have it happen in the last hour of my trip. It would be a nice change of pace to go home with more money than I came with. :faint:

I'd prefer to hit it early, cause then I'd completely go into "protection" mode... hitting it late would mean I probably already dumped a chunk of change in, though at my level it'd be under $1,000, so it's still be a nice win! My trips are different from most in that I'm usually only in town for a couple days and have plenty of business related "activities" to tend to, so "protecting" it and still having fun would be easier for me than most I think.

Agreed I won 3k in the first 90 min at the craps tables on my last trip. The win allowed me to be more aggressive in my betting and take more risks the rest of the trip. Finished the trip well ahead.

I definitely would want it to be in the first hour. Changes the entire dynamic of the visit. I go to Vegas to live a little, an extra 10K to start makes that happen and then some. I certainly wouldn't spend it all, but I wouldn't be afraid to use a good chunk of it and splurge.

I want it at the end to guarantee the good result and to leave the taste of winning in my mouth.

If I hit it early, even if I give back only a little it feels like a "loss" to me. There is nothing I love more than quitting gambling for a long spell at a high point of winning. That partially explains my current countdown timer. I am GREATLY enjoying quitting my recent gambling season on a big win and I want to savor that as long as possible before the ever-certain choke job of losing most of it back.

My vote is the first hour of a trip!! As I'm a slot player it would be a nice windfall to be able to play on their money rather than my own for an entire trip.

First hour so that I can celebrate during the rest of my time in Vegas with the big win!

The trips where I start off winning right off the bat have always been the most fun so I'd go with the first hour too. Last year I had a couple of Vegas trips where I was never actually down at any point and that made everything so much sweeter.

I'd love to see it early too! But believe me I wouldn't be sad to see it late either! :wink2:

Wow, I'd love to have a couple of trips like yours. Still waiting. As for the question asked, I'd take it any time during the trip. I'm pretty good at money mgt. so beginning or end of trip, doesn't matter. I'd be happy either way.

First hour , on our last trip we won a few hundred $$ on the first night and felt we were that little bit ahead for the whole trip (we are low rollers) it was different from our first trip when it felt like we were chasing the whole time

Totally agree with BeeeJay! Here are three very recent examples:

    Last Week:

walk into local casino and immediately win Back-to-back handpays worth $5500 total. Ended up giving back $3k for the night playing UTH.

    Other Night:

Walk into another local casino and immediately win a $2000 handpay. Ended up giving all $2000 back playing UTH.

    Last night:

Again, walk into local casino and immediately hit this $5000 handpay. Ended up giving $3000 back playing FreeBet Blackjack, Crazy4, and UTH.

All three days, when I left the casino, I kept thinking...man, i should have left right after the handpay! Had I started out playing the losing table games first and then won the handpays at the end, the break-even, or slightly positive sessions would have felt so much better.

I actually won approximately $16K in Freeplay in the first 30 minutes after arriving at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi once.
In Vegas I usually do not gamble on the day I am leaving due to an early flight so it would have to be on my last night.
Plus winning in the last hour would be cutting it close if you had to catch a flight. I'd much rather go home a winner!

I would prefer it to happen early. I'd take that $10k brick and lock it up in the safe and then go crazy with my original bankroll.

Beginning of the trip. Lock up 5K for home and just go nuts the other 5K+the rest of the bankroll I brought.

I really thought I would prefer it to be during the last hour, but these posts have changed my mind. Hitting it early would make for a fun trip, even if I didn't spend any of it. I'd be alot more agressive with my original bankroll and if I tapped out, I'd be OK with no more gaming since I knew I was coming home a winner.

    What an interesting dynamic.

If I won $10k early and lost some of it throughout the week I'd feel like a loser.
If I won $10k at the end after a rough week at the tables, I'd feel like a winner.

I usually take a $2k to Vegas for a bankroll. If I hit for $10k in the first few hours of my trip, that $10k would be put in the safe right away, along with $1,500 of my bankroll. I'd gamble with $500 the rest of the way. $5 craps and blackjack and maybe a penny slot here or there. If that $500 lasted the week, great. If not, I'll rent a car and see some sights away from the strip.

The bottom line is, if I hit for $10k, I am not giving one red cent of it back.

Early without a doubt. I'm in Vegas to have fun and being up from day one is more fun than being down for four days with some brief relief on the last day.

It ain't about the money or bringing it home. It just feels good to be on a "winning" trip and I'd rather have that vibe for the whole trip rather than the last day.

All of my big wins ironically have been at the 11th hour. I've never started strong.

It would put a smile on my face for the whole trip, no doubt. But, it wouldn't change what I'd do with it. I'd be on the phone to my bank pretty quick and only keep about $500 to sweeten the trip. I'm sorry I'm such a buzzkill.
