NYE on the Strip?

We're going to Vegas for the first time for NYE. We do not want to be on the street at midnight, but would prefer to be at a party at a hotel on the Strip. Does anyone host an outdoor party for fireworks viewing? Or...any party at all?

Currently booked at MB but we have a few other options if we need to move around the Strip.

 

Fire hazard. Fireworks arent big in the desert. No such luck anywhere near strip. You will be able to see some in various places off strip. Try summerlin

 

We will be there too for the 1st time NYE. Have heard you must come outside to view the fireworks on the tops of many buildings so that is what we will do. It will probably be a zoo but we are staying at Flamingo this time because of the proximity to the Linq (everything will be a shorter walk than at Paris / Bally's where usually stay during warmer months).

 

not true, fireworks on the strip , they just had them for the 4th of july and new years, outdoors try maybe drais and im sure marquee will have the roof up over the pool and pure might reopen, margaritive has an out deck thers a bunch mut not much at mb.

ps fireworks are legal in las vegas during certian times we can set the off in the streets

 

yes u will have to outside its a zoo 100,000 of people on the strip parting but great location, i can even snow on new years or be 60 degress

 

In previous years NYNY had their NYE Bridge Bash but they didn't do it last year due to construction closing off the front of the property. Not sure if they are doing it this year or not.

But for outdoor parties I think that was it - The Strip is otherwise pretty packed in the main part (from around Aria/Cosmopolitan down to Ti) shoulder to shoulder with people so there isn't really anywhere for a party and most of the casinos do parties but in their nightclubs where they can have a celebrity host and charge a hefty price to get in... plus its usually pretty cold outside on New Years Eve (with wind chill you can expect it to be below freezing).

For parties themselves you can expect just about every club and bar that can be closed off will have some kind of party that they'll be selling tickets to... its just a little early right now to be finding this info as it won't really be coming out as to who is hosting what party and who is doing what until November or December.

If you don't want to be out on the street to see the fireworks then where to go is pretty much the same standard replies for where to go to view The Strip at night, places like Stratosphere or VooDoo lounge. Some of the places with pools where they have day parties that are above The Strip (IE: Cosmo) might have parties but the view is usually limited - realistically the best place to see the fireworks is to be out front of Bellagio or Caesars Palace down in the street (and if you do change your mind and decide to go out there you want to do it early because it can be very slow moving to get out there, like even from Harrah's to get to the front of Caesars Palace could take an hour)

 

Thanks for the useful info. I think we'd be more prone to do a club or lounge and pass on the crowd and fireworks. ...don't mind paying to avoid the people. I'll post more as it gets closer and we get some info.

 

I'd only suggest to go in with a complete plan for the night. We had gone one year and completely underestimated the crowds. Taxi's were out of the question (even if you could get one it was impossible for them to move through the crowds at intersections etc), and it was very hard getting on a table or finding an open slot machine.....it was absolutely PACKED! Reservations within walking distance will be a must for dining and entertainment!

 

yes everything including clubs will be very expensive a few 100$ to get in, just a geads up, no cabs , u will be walking,the strip will be closed and packed , most people suggest stay where u are partying thats the best sugestion. plan ahead,
