...Now maybe Harrah's will be the worst case scenario for those of us who are lowly CET Platinum players. It used to be that I could count on an IP/Quad comp pretty much no matter what. Now that The Linq is coming, I can only imagine that a standard Linq room will be nicer than a standard Harrah's room. If my theory is correct, then maybe a basic comped room will mean Harrah's, which I consider a 4 on a scale of 10, rather then a new Linq room, which will be maybe a 5 or a 6. (IP/Quad was pretty much a 2 or a 3, IMO.)

So instead of my old worst case scenario, where I was stuck at the IP/Quad in a 2 caliber room, maybe my new worst case scenario is being stuck at Harrah's in a 4 caliber room. Better!

But then again...maybe CET will just stop comping Platinum players in Vegas altogether, under the theory that all their Vegas properties will be too nice for mere Platinum folks?

I am confused, I am an even more lowly Gold and I have 3 nights comped on a weekend (granted it is the middle of August when it is going to be 110 degrees everyday) in a Red Room at Paris. As a Plat you should get much better than that, no?

Not necessarily. Really depends on your ADT.

Yea, i agree with tringlomane. It has a lot to do with your ADT.
I get 15 comped nights a year and i'm only Gold. But my 15 comped nights are actually $300 per year with resort fees, (i go 3 times a year @ 5 nights). So even though i'm comped, they are still getting $300 per year knowing that my ADT numbers are reliable and consistent and has been over the years.

But it boils down to your ADT. Perhaps the OP, even with your Platinum card, is less valuable to them than my Gold card due to various reasons at CET. They know they can count on me for the numbers i have given them, and more importantly what they expect from me in the coming months. YMMV.

I give them what they want, a reliable and consistent bankroll over 5 nights............in return, they give me comped nights knowing that my loyalty to them far surpasses the free nights they give me in the long run.

    ....lowly CET Platinum players???

I think CET does pretty well for us low rollers.
And Platinum has some nice perks when it comes to lines at the desk and cage.

Most of my free room offers are for any hotel/casino. Its not like I only 1 nigh at Paris and 3 nights at Ballys. It is mostly the same number of free nights at any of them.

Confirmed. I'm Platinum (through the Total Rewards Visa card) and I've never achieved so much as a free Tuesday night at Harrah's. I receive "My Offers" for a free night or two, but I've never actually gotten one to work no matter how many hours I spend trying.

im a lowly gold, and I have 5 free nights at Paris, which I will be using, hopefully. Granted now it shows I have zero free nights anymore, perhaps they are wanting to see how i play on this vegas trip.

Our last visit was at Bally's for a week. We had four comp nights and paid for three. Resort fee of $18 for all seven nights.
We still felt it to be a good deal.

I am looking forward to seeing what the Quad finally does. Have stayed at every other CET property & they are all fine (tho our one stay at Flamingo some years ago had serious hallway cleanliness issues so haven't been back--I see Harrahs as superior to Flamingo, tho the GO room was cool) Never could give up nicer rooms to stay at Quad even though I wanted to see it!!
While I am "unofficially" Platinum--that is, only due to the TR credit card--and DH is gold, we rarely pay for a room in Vegas, unless it is a busy weekend. (we go 2-4x/yr for 4-5 nts). Typically it is Harrahs or Ballys, but we were comped at Paris this time...but frankly Ballys rooms are all nicer than Paris standard, and Paris is stingy with upgrades. BUT kept checking & low & behold Caesars popped up, Roman Tower (yech) BUT they are generous with the comps. Actually found Forum Tower today, so grabbed it as those rooms are fine (large, along the lines of Harrahs quality) BUT hoping for the usual upgrade from them! (have only grabbed 3 comps there over the years, but they have always offered the upgrade!)

Card level did help in one major way. As a seven star I was able to arrive last minute and get a room without a reservation anytime of the week. My parents which held diamond for a while could almost do the same just not on weekends. They always planned last minute trips and were never turned away. This always worked for us even if we crapped on our adt. Higher card level helps with jumping lines as well. Take this with a grain of salt though because this was years ago when I made seven star the first month they made the card available. Things may be different now.

My favorite thing about the quad is walking in and sitting right down on the first machine I see. :). The slots are set up spread out throughout the quad and the machine I play there is just right at the entrance, easy to find. :)

I see it quite a bit on the board, but there appears to be a great deal of (and I am looking for the right word here) disrepect for Harrahs which I am finding hard to understand. I have only been to Vegas once but I am a seasoned traveller for business and find it puzzling why there is so much dislike/unlove for this hotel. When I stayed there is February I found the room to be fine, the hotel very clean, and the staff to be quite friendly. The price was great and the location was outstanding. Maybe it is just because I don't have the experience with other hotels that most of you have but I am wondering if any of you can help explain why there is no love for Harrahs?

Harrah's rooms are pretty boring in comparison to the completion. The lack of a decent pool area, the low ceilings and small feeling and smokey casino are a detractor. The common
areas especially hallway carpets are looking pretty worn. However I think they have a great diamond lounge and the staff I encounter at the property always try harder. So for that reason I still
like the place. Its going to be pretty hard thought with the upgrades they did at the Quad. The redesigned casino is really nice, having access to lots of dinning at the Linq promenade is a plus, and the rooms are really
the only reason not to stay at the place. Once they sort that out, Harrah's is going to be further regarded as the old timer joint in the portfolio.

I had a decent experience at Harrah's but square footage is one of the few things that matter to me in a hotel room and they are lacking in that department. When you think about the entertainment options they've had over the years, they've always had a good lineup. For me, there is nothing in the dining lineup that gets me excited. Finally, it you've stayed in a hotel or two under the Harrah's brand outside of Vegas, it's hard not to be disappointed in the hotel. It's the least of the ones I've been to when it should be the flagship.

Anyone know if elevator upgrades will be part of the Linq transformation? If they plan to charge more for the rooms, they better make them more accessible.
