I have never delt with a host before, only calling the MLife "VIP number for each hotel and seeing "what they could do", I have learned (I think) that they can only "do" what is on the computer in front of them, correct me if I am wrong.

    I have never "pushed back".

I played a consistent 4 hours of blackjack a day for 3 days last stay at MC, not sure I "qualify" for anything going forward, but did get $120 food and bev credit on the way out the door (room was in my Dad's name, so they couldnt do anything on that, tho not sure they could have anyway)

Am I speaking to the right people when I call, do I ask to be transferred to a host. Monte Carlo is fine for my next trip...I am not pushing for "higher end", but prefer to not move to Luxor or Excalibur.

Can anyone advise on my "scripting" when I speak with someone?

I am used to rejection so happy to call and try, worst they can say is...no

Trip planned for latter half of october.

What was your average bet? That will tell a lot.

Any idea how many "tier credits" you earned. Or Express Comps?

Yes, knowing your play level would help. As far as VIP not being able to do anything for you besides list existing offers - this hasn't been my experience. I gave MGM Grand quite a bit of play last November. Patiently waited for a marketing offer. I never got any. So I called VIP marketing to see if I had any offers - nope - not one. But they said that based on the play of my last 3 M Life trips, they could give me 3 nights in a suite and a $400 resort credit. I wanted free play though, so at a later date I just called and asked to speak to the host on duty. I've had much better luck with that then just e-mailing hosts listed on the web-site.

Just want to emphasize that THIS is what you are asking.

The people responding to your thread seem to think you're asking for their opinions as to what level of comps you deserve...

I think people just hate to encourage others to call a host unless their play warrants it.

To the OP - not sure what you mean by scripting. Call VIP marketing, ask to speak to the host on duty. When he comes on, say "Hi, I'm going to be in Vegas on such and such dates and was wondering what, if anything, you could do for me". Or you can certainly e-mail one of the hosts from the list that will be on the MC website. As I said though, I personally, have had much better luck with the host on duty.

As Josie said, there really is no script. You call them, give them your player's card number and they will review your play. If there is something specific you want, you can ask for it.

But knowing his/her play will go a long way to determining what he/she can "expect". There is so much data and information from people on this site which is why its so great! If he played 4 hrs per day at $25 per hand, there really is no use calling a host (you still can but you won't get anything other than general marketing offers). If its $100+ per hand, that's a completely different story.

There's betting information a VIP Services rep can see that will trigger them to put you through to a host. If they don;t do that on their own, you can ask to be put through, or you can contact one directly via email if that info is on the casino's website.

Chuck is correct, as when I called around last week I was transferred to a host by one casino (Monte Carlo) as I had no offers but they said I could be better served by a host. When calling around all I said was "I am interested in coming to 'hotel name' and staying on my next trip in September and was wondering if there were any offers available to me". Then they asked for my card number and said "yes" or what they could do for me as in free rooms etc.

Sorry. I have been away. Appreciate the insights. I guess that even tho I thought I had stepped up to the big boy leagues, I am still a bit low on the requirements to get anything. I was told by the pit boss he had me at $25 avg each session I had asked. I put in enough tier credits between that and VP to make pearl in one trip plus a bit more.

I will call and see what they will do, and yes the "scripting" I was looking for was just the simple statement Josie said above.

I guess I just wanted to know if I could just ask for a host to review my play, and looks like I can, just won't have highest hopes is all.

    Thanks

We have stayed at Monte Carlo quite a bit over the last few years and can say that although most people don't consider them to be a super high end fancy resort on par with Bellagio, Aria or Mirage... when it comes to dealing with their hosts, they do. So expect their hosts to be real stingy and cheap with the comps.

That said, when you say you made it up to "Pearl" in one trip thats a bit misleading: even though you are up one level in the player's club, it is extremely easy to get to Pearl so its not really much of an accomplishment - the "Gold" level with Mlife is about on par with Total Reward's Platinum so you are still a bit below that and Platinum players don't get too much at Total Rewards.

yeah they seem to to think they are more than they are there, if this were the case (that they are super-fancy-high end), the rooms need a bigtime facelift...especially the bathrooms. We like it there for the price/location combo...

I figured as much..Just to know none of those pearl credits were from anything but gambling...(ie no hotel/food charges) not that that makes a difference. Point understood, Auggie. Thanks for the insight...
