No CET offers? You may have a bad mailing code!

A strange little thing happened to me that I think is worth sharing. Like many others here I receive mailers and online offers from CET regularly, at least a few per week. Mostly from AC casinos but from Vegas too. However for several months now I haven't received a thing. I didn't notice it at first, then when it hit me I just figured I wasn't getting any love, but eventually I thought it was nuts I wasn't getting anything in the mail or online. I've been earning anywhere from 1000 to 8000 TCs per day before bonuses on any CET visit this year.

So I emailed the TR people through the site, first to their AC people, and asked why I wasn't getting anything at all anymore. They responded the same day and said they investigated the matter and it turns out I had a bad mailing code. As little as one piece of mail that gets returned to them can result in your account having a bad mailing code. Its important to note that I did check my account online and everything looked fine with my address and mail preferences, there were no issues there. So she fixed the issue, said it would take about 8 weeks for mail and offers to start up again and it wouldn't be possible for them to resend past offers, but she graciously added 10k RCs to my account as a goodwill gesture.

A few days later I figured I should email the TR people in Vegas as well in case they're on a different system. They also responded the same day and said the same thing - I had a bad mailing code that has been fixed and I could expect my offers and mail to start up again within 8 weeks. She also said they couldn't resend past offers but graciously added some offers by hand to my account. As an aside she also wrote a description of how offers work. Probably nothing new to many here but she explained how each market was independent. So AC offers are based on AC play, Vegas offers are based on Vegas play, etc. Here is one of the relevant paragraphs from her email:

Anyway, maybe this is helpful to someone. If you see mailers and offers drop off completely for a long time it might be worth checking to see if you've been flagged with a bad mail code.

Wow, I'm impressed - not only at the customer service, but that they actually figured out how to fix the problem.

I fell off M Life's mail/e-mail list several years ago. I've e-mailed many times, phoned many times, posted on their Facebook page - but no one can seem to figure out how to fix the problem. I get e-mails directly from the properties - but not from M Life, so for example, when they send out the cruise notification yearly - I don't get one. My boyfriend is always getting e-mails from M Life, me nada.

Interesting info. I have been trying to get CET to stop sending snail mail for quite some time. I still get something nearly every day from them and never anything but surveys via email. Two hosts and three TR reps have confirmed the account is coded as "prefers email" and has been for over a year. I haven't seen a piece of paper mail from Mlife in years, get only emailed offers from Bellagio and Aria.

I would prefer everything over email as well. But with the AC casinos at least they send out a lot of offers where you need the actual mailers. Also, the bad mail code they somehow had for me put a stop to all offers whether by snail mail, email, or on the TR site. From their emails to me it sounds like it just filtered me out of the database of players they would generate offers for.

Hmmmm, I wonder if this is what happened to me. I haven't gotten any summer offers at all even though I visited and gambled in January and March.... Got a bunch of Spring offers, but then radio silence for Summer/Fall....

When you mentioned no offers "onLine" did this mean via e-mail or via Total Rewards login?

As was it actually 0 offers in your TR for a few months or just 1 or 2 offers you were getting?

Both. No offers were coming via email or on the TR site. I was only getting general marketing email about concert events and stuff. I knew my offers were empty on the TR site but I never really paid attention to it. I'd only login there when I needed to book a room in AC. I still got comp rooms through the site, just no offers.

I have this issue with TR and Mlife. I went around in circles with MGM, and we figured out basically the returned mail thing (also AOL is stupid, but that's my e-mail)... so I added their e-mails to my address book and now I get SOME. But I don't think I'm getting everything.

I don't get ANY TR emails at all even just "sale!!" emails...

I just sent an e-mail hopefully we can fix this!
