Hi - I'm playing around with the rate calendar on the Total Rewards site and a lot of the Saturdays are "check out only." In order to stay at the hotel that Saturday you need to also stay the Friday night before.

Is there any way to get around this? (without actually having to book the Friday before, of course). I've never stayed at a CET hotel before. Just exploring my options for upcoming trips after my nightmare at Aria.

I always arrive in Vegas on Saturdays, so this rule is kinda crummy for me.

im alittle confused yes again, u want to checkin on a saturday , but it wont let u , they want u to do a friday sat combo to do , is that correct.

i belive the longer u wait they will get rid of it, there could be a big thing going on causing the friday checkin, not uncommon in vegas for the weekend checkin.

try calling tr reservations directly as see if the can put the res in manualy for you with out the friday nite stay

or book the friday and kill the nite if you must

looks like ur trying to come in around labor day weekend

for shits and giggles i logged in to my tr account and put in the same info and it let me do the saturday as one nite or as the start of the trip.its ur status. a host can wave it, but as i suggetsed see ifv a tr reservationist can do it for u

Yes that's correct - I come in on Saturday the 30th of August. The calendar says in order to stay there the 30th, I also must book the 29th as well.

It is like this for a lot of Saturdays for a lot of the hotels on my calendar.

That specific weekend is Labor Day weekend, so I'm not surprised they do that. Probably nothing you can do.

For the other weekends, though, that's a little more unusual. I remember once or twice, years ago, I ran into this with some hotel or another in Vegas; I called and they were able to waive it. Totally going to depend on who you get on the phone, though.

That calendar shot I posted was for a standard room at Ballys. Let's not get too excited. ;)

I don't have any comped nights at PH, Paris, or Caesars. I'd love to get some at PH because I love the vibe in their casino.

Lately I've gone gambling a few times at Caesars Windsor in Canada - so that's probably helping my comps a bit. It's a pain to cross the border, but Caesars Windsor is much better than the three Detroit casinos.

My upcoming trip, I'm checking into Caesars on a comp on a Saturday, but yeah, I'm seeing that with certain Saturday nights in the future.

If I was getting that for dates I actually wanted to stay, I'd call reservations and see if they could override it; my expectation going in would be that they would.

That is messed up? I can understand with what happen to you at Aria i would never go back there either.

Call a host at CET and see what they can do.

I wouldn't want to bother a host. My play definitely wouldn't warrant anything from a host.

I might call the reservation number and see if they can do anything about it. I already have that weekend booked at TI, but based on those rates on my calendar, Ballys would be much cheaper.

I called the reservation line and there was nothing they could really do about it.

She was very nice, telling me what other hotels I could stay at, suggesting I stay at Harrahs or Rio that Saturday because they don't have the check in restriction that day then switch to Ballys for the rest of my trip. But I don't want to do that.

    So - TI it is.

Checked again just now and the restriction was gone.

Made the reservation just kind of as a placeholder. I have a couple months to decide if I actually want to stay there or TI.

And I was already planning on gambling more at Caesars Windsor between now and then so who knows maybe those rates will even go down more before then.

Why wouldn't you want to stay at Harrahs or Rio - if comped? I, personally, love Harrahs' location on the strip. VERY convenient - iMO. The reason I haven't stayed at Harrahs for past several trips is the pool. "Good" pool is a MUST for my wife - I don't go to the pool at all. Last trip we stayed at Caesars - wife loved the pool there but I HATE gambling in Caesars - don't like the vibe in that particular casino nor the table game selection... I am NOT a fan - I am not staying there again... We've stayed at Rio numerous times - comped for me, wife enjoys the pool, enjoy the vibe and table game selection; always have a good time there... Only drawback is that it's off the strip - which I don't mind... Palms and Gold Coast are actually walking distance from Rio - if my wife and I don't go with any newbies - we don't need to do the whole touristy/sight-seeing thingy on the strip. There is a free shuttle from Rio to Harrahs - so works just fine for us...

Harrahs is, by far, my favorite casino in terms of strip location... You don't have to walk 2 miles to get out of the casino... Once you step out you are on the strip... Mirage is directly across the street. Casino Royale ($1 ATM fee) / Venetian/Palazzo / Wynn/ Encore to the right; Other Harrahs properties to the left (you can walk from Harrahs all the way to Cromwell pretty much indoors (keeping cool in the AC) all the way through). Only drawback to staying at Harrahs - for me - is the pool for the wife.

Well that Saturday night before Labor Day wasn't comped at any CET hotel. Only Harrahs and Rio would allow check-in that day (this has changed since I called - but at the time I called these two were the only allowing check in on the 30th).

I've never really heard good things about Harrahs' rooms, and I'll never stay at the Rio since it's off strip - it might as well be on Mars.

Plus, I didn't want to hotel hop. This will be a four night trip. I just want to stay in one hotel the whole time.

We also like Caesars Windsor better than the Detroit casinos but we did enjoy Greektown last Friday, although a little too much smoke.

    Glad it changed for you.

This is common on weekends. They do not want empty rooms on Friday night and will hold out for people that will book Fri AND Sat. Around New Years, it is sometimes a 3 night min.

The alternative in this situation was to either book Harrahs, or book the Friday with a LATE arrival, then call to say your flight was delayed so they do not give the room away. Or, as you found, keep checking and it opened up. It could have gone the other way with rates going UP though. You got lucky.
