Or would it be easier to hop on a bus or cab it? I haven't used the monorail much, but since we will be so close to it this trip, I'm researching it more. Thanks for any suggestions (or comments on Peppermill!)

Peppermill is not close to any monorail station.

The taxi is going to be easiest and quickest, by bus you still have a bit of a walk and it can be a longish ride depending on where you are boarding (down by MGM Grand it could take you 45 minutes to an hour to get there by bus).

It's actually only a mile from the LVH (former Hilton now Westgate) monorail station.

Google map it or just walk from the monorail station to the front door, cross the street to the Riviera and cut through the casino or driveway/parking lot and take a left when you get to the strip.

It's not a horrible walk but it gets dusty if it's windy.

Along the same vein as the other posters, the monorail is about as good of an option as a pair of roller skates.

You could take the SDX to the showcase mall only 2 stops. Cross the street and catch the Deuce for a stop or 2.

D'oh! Ahhhh you guys got me!

I did answer a little too hastily and now must apologize and hang my head in shame as I had forgotten the ease of cutting through some back streets and through a parking lot and walking 20-30 minutes in the 110 degree heat... or the convenience of taking a bus, crossing the street and down to another bus stop, waiting around, taking another bus and then walking a couple of blocks.

Eh, I think I'd still want to take a taxi.

I agree... this would NOT be a fun walk.

NHeHHa,ha, I don't think she needed advice on the convenience of taking a cab. We gave her options. If she goes for a 8 o'clock breakfast these are feasible.

I fully support taking the bus or the monorail to get around, I just think that Peppermill is in one of those spots where its just not convenient to use either of those modes of transportation with the monorail being a ways off and the bus being kind of pokey and the nearest stop is a few blocks away.

If we were talking a morning trip to Peppermill then the bus wouldn't be so horrible: in the morning The Deuce can actually get around on The Strip pretty good because traffic is light and it wouldn't be that scorching heat of the afternoon sun.

I've made the very walk I described a dozen or so times and I don't mind it at all. But I'm the kind of person who LIKES walking.

As I said in my original post the only "problem" I've had has been when it's windy it kicks up the dust.

If you are the kind of person that doesn't like walking or heat, you might consider going somewhere other than the Las Vegas desert for your summer vacation.

SDX from Paris to the stop on Convention Center Drive at Channel 8 Drive cross the street to head north on LVB, the Peppermill is on your right.

Thanks for the advice everyone! We ended up coming from downtown and getting off the SDX at the convention center. It is not too bad of a walk, but it was not blasting hot last week.
