I am debating next week of instead of staying at Mandalay towards the end of my trip, to stay a couple nights at the Mirage instead. I do enjoy going to the hotel to gamble and eat but the rates are really high (because I guess something is going on!). Would it be worth spending the extra and giving it a try or should I stick with Mandalay Bay?

wait, you want to pay more for the mirage?
no, only when the location is important for you.

I vote Mandalay. Mirage can be too busy at times. I like the openness of Mandalay too. I have stayed at both plenty.

I like Mandalay more than Mirage in every respect. The only thing Mirage has over MB is location. But unless you're really dying to run around and do other stuff near the Mirage, I would recommend staying with MB

If you like the casino and food at Mirage, why not stay at TI? 30 second tram to it.

agree with the previous, no reason to ever pay more for Mirage over Mandalay unless you need that location for some reason...

Definitely Mandalay Bay for the openness of the casino and connectedness to Luxor, thus Excalibur, thus everything north of Tropicana.

This is 100% my sentiment. In addition to the facilities being significantly nicer at Mandalay Bay, the craps vibe at Mirage is generally terrible and their blackjack is being taken over by 6:5 nonsense and carnival games.

I like Mirage better than Mandalay bay personally but i stay at the Lanai rooms, so probably not apples to apples. The craps vibe has always been great at Mirage for me, packed table, good stick, good box and a huge crowd.

I love The Mirage also! Location is great!! The only thing I don't lke about The Mirage is that they don't have a cafe. I'd like to have somewhere to eat (especially for breakfast) other than the buffet or an over-priced deli. I almost booked a regular room at Mandalay but I have to say I do like Mirage better. Wherever you decide to stay, have fun!!!

In my experience, when something is 'going on' at Mirage it becomes a real pain to move around in there. Crowded to the max.
