Water's always good. We love our ag. Most of those fields flip every two months -- flowers, some are berries, lotsa leafy stuff. Vineyards beyond. Oak hills. Pretty part of CA here, beach a few minutes west ... and we're OUT of So Cal!!!! Morning fog, sunny days, no freezes, no heat spikes, constant temps. Good stuff.
Awesome hawk's nest in our woods - conveniently located just across from our living room window so we could watch them all spring building the nest!
That is awesome, H2. We have a nesting pair in the barranca behind the house. But we do not have anywhere near this type of front-row viewing!
Wildlife viewing is so very interesting at our house! There are things I wish I didn't see! Like the bobcat that shows up quite often on our trail cam. Or the bunnies who are not afraid of the cars and just sit by the driveway in the morning (despite the fact my cat regularly kills rabbits - guess these think they're safe because they're too big? ;-) We came home from a trip to find 2 snakes tangled in our blueberry bush netting. Living in the country isn't for the faint of heart....
My wife grew up in more of a more urban suburb than our current more rural suburb and she's not at all accustomed to the wildlife in the backyard. She likes the bunny rabbits but not the foxes, groundhogs and more exotic stuff. Which really aren't all that exotic.
