    My Trip Report

Checked into the Cosmo with a terrace suite for an extra $100. Room was awesome. One of my favorite rooms so far.

Played baccarat. Got killed. Biggest loss to date, ~25k Talon room was nice and the staff were awesome. I started chasing and betting yellows. It did not go well. One shoe destroyed me like no tomorrow. I loss 15k in that one shoe. I went to Wynn and Palazzo also to play. Got killed there. I could not get going. I swear I peeling 8's against 9's most of the trip.

Cosmo was packed on Fri. and Sat. I'm surprise this casino does not make money. So many hot girls. There were a lot of young people.

    Ate steak at STK.

    Rating

    Avg ~$600
    Time 6.5 hours
Not sure about theo. I didn't ask. My host took care of everything.

It's time to cool down and take a break from Vegas for a little bit. However, Cosmo invited me to a slot and BJ tournament. This trip was cursed. The most I got up at one point was~$500. I should have went with this guy who left to Aria to play since he was getting killed also, but I don't support Mlife or they don't support me.

I was those nights also. And the place was packed, but there were no gamblers. Tons of completely empty tables on the main floor and the high limit. The place is just one giant pool party in the summer. The young people start lining up at 9 to get into Marquee dayclub and the line did not abate all day.

I asked my host and she confirmed that they were sold out all weekend and the past week leading up to now. And she said the hotel really had no idea why. The Kid Rock show was not a sell out and a lot of the people going to that show only came in for it and were not staying at the hotel. I just can't wrap my mind around paying those kind of room rates just to have easier access to a pool party. It was crazy

I noticed the casino was dead also. I'm just surprised that a casino with this much foot traffic is not profitable. It was way busier than I have ever seen the Wynn and V/P. It was almost like fight night. I think Bellagio is the only casino with this type of foot traffic.

Rooms are ridiculous if you have to pay for them. For a standard room at Cosmo, you can get a descent suite at most casinos.

How did you do UK? Please tell me you won.

Love Cosmo....the terrace makes all the difference and the Casino is always fun. Sorry about the losses; better luck next trip!

They dont comp ? With that kind of play I would think they would treat you fairly well.

Sorry to hear about the rough trip. That is a kick in the nuts when everything you do and every casino you try is nothing but bust-o.

    You'll rebound next time!

PS - I'm shocked Cosmos hasn't figured out a way to more efficiently monetize the non-gaming crowd. They're losing money but have such a nice building and hotel that they could crush the competition if they figured out a way to harness those who don't gamble.

To be honest, Cosmo is one of the better casinos to "cut through".

Oh it is. But I think the threads may have been deleted.

I'll be there this weekend to take some of their money.

If the posts on this board are any guide they've been giving out comp rooms to practically anyone with a pulse lately, even with miniscule play and sometimes zero play. For a long time I felt like the only one in the world who wasn't getting anything from them, but now I'm getting comp room offers as well. I'd be interested to see how much that has bumped up their occupancy numbers.

I agree with tringlomane too, Cosmo is a very convenient property to cut through. I think its also the only high end property with an entrance right on the strip, you don't need to walk 8 miles from the sidewalk to go inside of it so I think that adds to the foot traffic.

As far as the casino being dead, it has always felt more like a hotel lobby with gambling than a separate casino to me. That's probably not the reason its dead but its the main reason I've never really felt like playing there.

Yeah, that could clearly explain the reason the rooms were packed. It definitely was not the casino drawing people in.

Come on - let's hear it.

Sorry about the losing trip. I had 4 losing trips in a row - granted not those kinds of losses - but it's no fun and turns you off Vegas for a while.

I stayed at the Cosmo for a couple days my last trip and loved the room but hated gambling there. Maybe (definitely) I’m too old but the crowed is so young and the casino is so loud that I just didn’t enjoy myself. I always felt like someone was standing over me or next to me when playing machines as it was busy but no one was gambling. Even security was telling people to keep moving or that they couldn’t sit if they were not playing but as soon as security left they just sat back down. I would definitely take the rooms over Aria but I love Aria for the gaming

I agree, Aria's casino is much better than Cosmo

I was there too and the first night I won at Cosmo and at 6am with no sleep I go to Aria and lose 10k. With $1k average for two hours on Baccarat and $800 average on BJ for 1 hour.

I Spent the next two days wining this back and came home a small winning.

Sorry to hear you lost. We should have meet and played a few hands at Cosmo. I had a great run and you would have made some money.

UK, You are getting old pal!

The kids want to party. DJs are the new rockstars and Marquee has quite the roster. These kids are dropping 3-5k min on Daybeds and Pool Cabanas
Thats before they go into the nightclub for another whacking. Whats a room rate at that point split amongst a group of them?
They usually roll pretty deep anyway.

+1. People are splitting room costs so it's not much after you divide the room rate by 3 or 4.
