Hello everyone...planning a vegas trip end of August and would love to stay at Palazzo. Who has stayed at Palazzo and tell me what you thought. Not a big gambler do like some pool time, shopping, just walking around and many shows.

My second choice is Treasure Island which would be $400. cheaper. Any one have comments on Treasure Island??

In the past have stayed at MGM, Ballys, Flamingo and Mirage.

    Thank you all!!:wave::thumbsup:

It depends on how many days you are staying for paying $400 more.

I stayed at the Palazzo for my first time a few trips ago. I actually enjoyed it after hearing the skepticism on the board. The standard rooms are big. The casino is more quiet and laid back than Venetian. The feel of the shopping felt more like a "mall" to me. However, it was still nice, but not on the level of the Wynn.

I liked it better than MGM and Mirage.

I've never stayed at TI but I love Mirage.

I'm also a huge Venetian and Palazzo fanboy. I've stayed there three times now (V twice and P once) and it's worth it to me.

It comes down to personal preference though and how much hotels factor into your vacation enjoyment equation. I don't know about Venetian and Palazzo's pool but the shopping there is pretty good.

But whether you stayed at TI or V/P you're close to the Canal Shoppes and the Forum Shoppes at Caesars.

I love Palazzo's rooms (newer than V's) and the place is quiet and relaxing.

Well there's no question The Palazzo is a superior facility to TI and those you mentioned that you've stayed at previously. I'm not sure how many days the additional $400 is spread over and how important it may be to your overall budget? I like TI and can easily see the extra $400 going to some additional gambling or fun, but I also really like a nice room and Palazzo's are some of the nicest in town.

What are your main concerns or criteria?

For how little I am in the room I can't think of any room worth an extra $400.
That money would be better spent at the Craps table or since you mentioned pool maybe a cabana.

Maybe ask which hotel has the better pool if that is at the top of your list.

That seems like an awful lot. I would prefer to stay somewhere Comped..........play at Pal and hope for some future offers.

I've been Gold at V/P for years and only stay there on comp or comp tourney offers. Will be at Pal again in a couple weeks.
Very nice place to stay, but if youre comped elsewhere?
I personally would stay There, and save that $400 for bankroll.:peace:

I would say, categorically, no. If you like pool, walking around, and shopping, then Mirage and MGM are better bets and almost certain to be significantly cheaper. The rooms themselves might not be quite as nice, but the facilities in general will be great, and either place will have a much, much better pool

Palazzo is really nice. $400 is a healthy chunk of change. Obviously, there are lots of people that feel it's worth it and lots that don't.

Paradoxically, it seems the classy places in Vegas like Palazzo and Wynn have a lot more patience for the shenanigans my wife and I cause than the lower brow places. My wife and I actually got lost in Palazzo and wound up behind the casino in an office area. We were a bit drunk and the people there were cool as could be as they escorted us back through the secret door into the casino. I just have a problem breaking the $100 per night barrier for a room in Vegas so we've only stayed at Palazzo once and it was probably due to a webpage pricing mistake.

OP mentioned TI or Palazzzo, so here goes-
    Price-TI
Rooms- Pal are MUCH nicer as they have more of a suite feel. They are not technically what I would consider a suite but they do have a separate sunken sitting area with couch and the bathrooms are MUCH better than TI. TI rooms I would rate as a little below Mirage (since you mentioned stayed there)
Pool- Pal much nicer, you actually have access to the Venetian pool as well as they are literally beside each other IIRC. TI pool is small and when DW and I stayed there we tried to take a nap (room facing south, pool side) and we could not due to the noise and our room was around 17th(?) floor. Great for party, not so great for chilling.
    Ambiance- Pal
Food- We actually liked the choices at TI (some will say we're crazy- they are right!) as Palazzo food was definitely more expensive. But the Grand Lux cafe @ Pal is great and they do have a food court in the Venetian so V/P has many more choices.
    Sights- V/P definitely
    Casino- Pal
Comp possibilities- Unless you want risk some serious $$$ TI definitely

The $400 is based on length of stay and as others said what you are looking for, hopefully this comparison will help, YMMV. Have a great trip.

    Thank you all!!

I think I'm leaning towards Palazzo for the 5 nights at $400. more then TI. I hardly gamble the last time I stayed at Mirage for 4 nights I gambled a Big $3.00.....:evillaugh So I'm not getting comped anywhere. :ssst: And yes Non Gamblers can enjoy Vegas too!

I like the big rooms of Palazzo and online reviews are very good.

Looking forward to the shows, sunny hot skies, chilling and just walking around.

    Thanks everyone!

Sounds like room is of importance, this being the case I think you'll be quite pleased with your decision. I hate V/P gaming but it is undoubtedly a very nice hotel and a pretty cool place to be.

I am a regular at Palazzo and will be there next month. I have also stayed at TI. Most of the folks here have hit the nail on the head. The Palazzo suite rooms are far nicer and if you will spend some time in the room doing things other than sleeping, that is a consideration. Otherwise, you can always cross LV Blvd and walk around the much nicer Palazzo's public grounds. So unless you use the pools or the gym (which are also much nicer) there is little additional to gain outside of the room.

But two suggestions. First, if you stay at TI and you regularly come to LV and play, then go over to Palazzo in the late morning when things are slow and ask to see a host. Set out your play and how often you come to Vegas. Let them know you are a TI regular (even if you are not) and that you would like to cross the street if the comps/discounts are going to cut into that $400 premium. Ask to see a room so you know what is at stake.

Second, play at their tables or slots before you commit. If you stay at a place and want some comps, then you have to play there. If the vibe of the place is bad, forget it. You will be spending a few hours or more playing there every day. So even if the room is nice, don't go to a place where you do not like the dealers, PBs and the CWs.

We usually stay there when owner/operator convention for McDonald's is going on and love it cause gf loves shops close by and of all things the maid service in our suite

But otherwise I don't stay on strip as I'm a Boyd guy .

    Stay at TI

Well, for 5 nights that's not to bad... Palazzo is really great. Is Venetian any less? Because it's the same exact thing The rooms are suites. You could stay in Venetian/Palazzo for DAYS and never leave, or eat at the same restaurant haha.

TI is under heavy construction (front is torn up, pirate show is gone).. and it's fell in to some state of disrepair after MGM sold it. I don't know if I would stay there anymore.. unless it was a rock bottom rate.

Well I surely won't get into a disagreement with you as 9 times out of ten I'll win(Kidding of Course) but let me point out some things --

Disrepair after MGM sold it?? Lord Ruffin bought the place for around 776 million I recall so He's getting rid of the Pirate thingy yes the Sirens cove I think ya got to go on even though the shows over...It did good years ago but way business people look at it is ya got to get em inside to make money not take pictures outside.

MGM put alot of money in a few things so he's winning there but being in business ya got to look at bottom line he's doing the right thing

Just my opinion...And yes I can stay anywhere comp or cash doesn't matter but when we do stay on strip I like TI

Well, if the bossman's business acumen is relevant to this thread...I'm pretty sure Palazzo's head honcho might have an inkling about how to make a buck or two. :poke:

I'm just stating or better yet giving opinion to comment of Ti being in state of disrepair

It isn't and never will be

    Bottom line

Splurge on the $400 for P. When you look back 5 years or 10 years from now, you won't miss the $400 but you'll remember the experience. I'm a non-gambler too. Your $3 gambling budget last trip still beat mine!

I don't disagree at all (though, I'm not terribly enamored of many of the changes Ruffin's made and I doubt I'm in the minority)...I'm just giving you a hard time.
