Night clubs in Chicago, Miami, etc. have celebrity DJs, pricey drinks, Go-Go dancers..
So what's the draw of the night clubs in Vegas?

    Overabundance of hookers?
Ability to walk back to the hotel?

i just got from nyc and once again i will say vegas clubs sux compared to nyc and southbeach.

vegas bottle pushers and bribe takers at the front door , everyone must dress the same and wait on long lines and stupid cover charges and most venues are the same.

nyc no cover charges, dress how you want, great mix of all types of people from gay straight wall street to punk rockers to models skate kids . its the mix and vibe in the club that makes a club.ps there no waiting to get into a ny club either ur or not if not go somewhere else.
nyc and southbeach have tons of hookers cheaper and nyc u can take the subway home or to next prty great way to pick up chicks

vegas is more about going to a concert to see a dj , stand around in the suasage factory rub up against ur new best friend and bounce

cant forget the nyc nite club that also has a swimming pool and a roof party , nothing beats naked chicks swimming at 3 am while im having my beer 30 stories over nyc

south beach hot chicks great music and drink all nite its a blast .

NYC, Miami, Chicago to me have a more consistent crowd of locals that also follow the music.

Vegas is a vacation spot where the clientele change on a weekly basis so they are able to run the racket they run. When people are in Vegas they want the "Vegas" experience and part of that for some is experiencing a major dance club venue which equals $$$ and the clubs have capitalized on it.

If you take the major cities here in the US out of the mix and remove the few festivals that occur annually, these guys are rock stars that people want to see and Vegas provides that for them.

The unfortunate thing is there are tons of djs here in the US and overseas that are ridiculously talented that don't get the exposure because they don't cross over commercially, or even produce. It's all about name recognition and being in the right place at the right time.

also nyc chicago and miami dont need to book mega djs to get a crowd, the club and vibe is the star the music is the backround. thats the big differnce

vegas cares only about every 2 or 3 days another group of suckers that will come in and over pay and bribe us for the untimate vegas experince and they dont care , there no club loyality or brand loyalty.

The biggest draw of Vegas nightclubs for many is the carefree attitude that accompanies a vacation in Las Vegas. Specifically, those who would normally not be inclined to, say, go back to my hotel room on a normal day, would be just inclined enough to do so while in Las Vegas.

    Just my $0.02.

i started working in Vegas clubs in 1996 and every place i have worked since then did good and stayed busy. Years ago vegas wasnt known for nightclubs, it was the attraction of casinos. Now the under 40 crowd as learned that Vegas is a top stop for big name DJs. Just like LA, its a crowd that parties every night, but you only have some many clubs and most in LA are small compared to Vegas. NYC and other locations have a different attraction level than Vegas, plus Vegas is the worst to get in to clubs, from what i have seen. For most of you that have traveled to Vegas for 10 year or more, you know that people came for the gambling and shows. Now the casino attraction isnt as high as it used to be and they found that the younger crowd 21-35 would spend 5k minimums and have no issues with it. Every year the last few years you see minimums raise. 5 years ago you could get $500 minimums, busy weekends were 1000-1500 minimums. As long as there is a demand, Vegas clubs will make money.
