I have said it on here even before- I hate it when even MY FRIENDS do this, or if I am on a slot. Stop and chat for a minute, but then beat it. I don't mind sitting with a friend or my wife at a table or next to them at a slot, but not leering over my shoulder.

The worst is the friend that has either gone to the casino broke or had busted out and can't gamble anymore so they decide to leer.

I am guilty I am sorry to admit, I'll stop and play a couple imaginary spins watching the roulette wheel. I guess I really am not using a specific person as a focus, that does seem odd.

When the SO is playing Pai Gow Poker I try not to interrupt during a hand for sure, I usually don't even stop by the table unless she is over an hour behind schedule. If the table is not packed I usually play a couple hands. She forgets to eat sometimes:ssst:

One of the most annoying things. It's one thing to spectate, but to watch AND open your mouth. I agree, for those people, either shut up or sit down and put out some money. Paper, I recall you saying you lived in NYC before and used to go to AC. I find AC full of those type of people. Cause it's in such close proximity to NYC and all the 20-30 buses that go to AC with such a big crowd even on a regular weekday. At night you got all those people who miss the last bus, or lost all their money, just moping around standing behind you. Not even standing behind you, but like literally on you, where you can feel them breathing. They're just standing there for 10, 20, 30 minutes just eyeing your cards and every move, making facial expressions or mumbling. One time I got so mad, some dude was literally behind for for 15-20 minutes. i finally politely asked him how he was doing and if he won. He replied no, lost everything. I replied with sucks to be you then and he slowly walked away. :peace:

I hate when people do this. I have had it a few times at a local casino. Sometimes they will try to tell you how to play your money.

really hate this and am superstitious about it. I will just sit there and not play my hand and shoot dirty looks over my shoulder until the person gets a clue. I think this is my number #1 pet peeve.

Now once I asked a person who was playing a $100 WOF slot machine if he minded if I watched. He told me he hated when people watched. I told him no sweat and vacated the area. Wish others would do the same and just ask.

Actually my wife is the biggest offender to me when I'm at a table. That's why I need seperate trips.
It's annoying when it happens, It usually doesn't happen at the nicer places.

I play Baccarat and I've been betting Yellow chips and this person not betting and no chips sits down on the other side of the Big table and I had a 10k bet and lost? Ok WTF are you sitting down at a Baccarat table with a $500 min and no money or chips? I told the floor person after the last hand and they asked her to leave.

I play in the Hi limit area for a reason. I don't someone messing up the game. or lerkers. If you lost all your money it means your are a on cold streak or bad luck either way I don't want you around me.

I hate to have the floor kick them out but I had to a few times.

That is about the only good part is you can get the floor manager to ask the person to leave.

I had my friend and brother behine me at a Baccarat game and one of them taps my back on a $5k bet and ask if I want a water?? WTF I'm betting yellow chips if I want something the casino will get it.

    People just do not know.

I was playing solo BJ in the HL room at Venetian, when the weirdest Chinese guy wearing red pants and white platform shoes (the Chinese cousin Eddie) sat down next to me. He was talking Chinese and acting weird. He never took out any money and did not play a hand. Every hand he would say either "sprit" or "you so rucky" I asked the supervisor to 86 him. He told me since the tables are open to the public, and anyone can sit there. The guy would not leave so I asked them to make it a reserved table for me. My action was not enough for that. HOWEVER, since they knew I was pissed, they did it and made him leave. Once he left, they took down the reserved sigh.

I remember one time I was doing real well, and a guy across the casino yelled, "Yee-Haw!", because he hit his number on roulette. I had him shot, since I lost the next hand.

    You guys are a hoot!

You sound like a girl with big boobs, who puts on the shortest, tight, low-cut dress she owns, and then bitches about everyone staring at her.

Clearly I am in the minority here, but commenters and onlookers have never bothered me. I just ignore them. Instead, drunken players at the same table have always been my pet peeve. But if someone is standing behind me and reacting to the cards, I don't even notice. At Bellagio last year, I was chasing some losses at a higher limit craps table, so I was playing by myself, wagering $3000 on the line with full odds. Wagering that kind of action was definitely drawing attention from a lot of people walking by. They stopped to point and comment and lean over the far end of the table to watch. I was definitely feeling the heat a bit and not happy with myself for having dug such a hole, but the boxman assumed I was pissed off by all the people watching and talking. He stood up from his seat and declared that I was wagering a large sum and that everyone needed to be quiet and take a step back form the table unless they were going to play. I then realized what was going on and said the people around the table weren't bothering me and I was cool with it. I wouldn't have even noticed all of them if the boxman hadn't said anything.

I absolutely hate when people stand behind and just watch. Even if they're not saying anything.

It's just creepy to me. Go away. We don't need an audience.

Playing craps you normally get some people looking so who cares, well I had a good roll going just over 10 minutes and a good looking set of chips on the rail when this early 20's kid starts asking me to teach him how to play. I ignore him. Still rolling. He continues. I'm getting pissed now. On a good roll and this dick won't leave me alone. I ask boxman to do something and he ignores me!! Luckily I was betting for the boys and the dealer told him to play or back away from the table. I don't mind if you're watching, but don't interrupt my play.

Yeah that would've annoyed me if I was shooting. I don't mind giving tips when I'm not the shooter but otherwise if I'm throwing I am in a zone and don't even small talk with the crew then.

Once at a local casino I was playing blackjack and doing pretty well. I had a nice stack of chips in front of me and this dude who'd gone bust-o was hovering. He sat next to me and kept asking questions or trying to offer advice. I small talked him a bit but it became annoying. Finally he asks me "can I have $50? I lost all my money and I need gas to get home". My response was basically for him to take a hike and the dealer also had the pit toss him. What a ballsy prick he was to ask.

On our first trip to Vegas my girlfriend and I were walking through Caesar's. I was not only a Vegas virgin but pretty much a gambling virgin. I was learning craps so as we'd stroll through casinos I'd stop and watch the action so I could grasp what was going on and comfort myself with the ins and outs so when I did jump on I'd be ok.

Anyways we walk by this table in Caesars and a table was reserved and it had one guy on there. He was buying in and drops a couple bricks of 100s down and I was mesmerized. We stood on the aisle (about 10ft from the table) and watched and he wasn't happy with us watching. I didn't know then that people got bent out of shape if you watched a game.

I will still watch dice action from afar but I'll never watch card games. Dice is exciting and moved quickly and is usually festive. Watching cards is like watching my grass grow. I'm only interested in cards if I'm playing.

    Wow.
That actually does remind me of this similar guy at the Fremont a few years ago...same kind of start. He wasn't playing - just offering up wise-cracks and the periodic advice on how I should play my hand.
At one point, I get an obvious double - 6-4 or 7-3 vs a dealer bust-card.
He is on that like white-on-rice, immediately advising me to "Double That!!"
My reply was a snarky, "Wow, really? Ya think?".
I win the hand, and he immediately hits me up for $20 (half the win).
    I'm like, "you're kidding, right?"
He's like, "No man - I told you you double that - you'd have only won $20 if I didn't tell you the right play".

Fortunately, the dealer & pit both observed this & he was escorted out a few seconds later.

As you mentioned with your guy - that was one ballsy prick.

Haha that's funny. Like he's a personal card coach or something.

I learned my lesson early on about giving people money. I was at Harrah's in Chester (outside of Philly) and we had a great table for hours. We were playing Spanish 21 and I'd run my stack up to $2500 after about four hours. One lady went bust-o and asked me to spot her $50 until her husband came over to give her more. Ok no problem I thought. We'd all been having a good time and her husband was cool too. I slid her two greens and she said if she won the hand she would give it back or otherwise the husband would have cash.

She lost. He comes back and they've exceeded their ATM limit. So I see where this is going and they kind of awkwardly stand there and she says "give me your address" and I gave her my business card and never expected to see that $50 (and it never did come). I colored up at an even $3k and she had the balls to make a comment like how I was good without that $50 anyways. I kind of smirked and told her it was the principle and then left. Several months later I was back home in PA and went down to Harrahs to play a bit and wouldn't you know I saw this same lady? I intentionally bought into the table she was on and sat there a bit and then asked her if she remembered me.

At first she didn't and then I saw her face change. She colored up and left. I laughed and told the dealer about the story and she said this lady was a huge degen.

PP, too bad about your experience. Unfortunately there are a couple of groups that do what the guy did. One group wants to be your "friend" and wants to relate to you as a big spender. He feels your pain and wants to relay his sorrow that you aren't doing that well. He also wants to feel your joy when you win. These guys never have the money to experience it themselves so they try to feed off your gaming to get their high.

The other group is similar but they want to benefit from your winnings, hoping that you will drop them a green or black chip for being your "friend". These guys are worthless, just sticking around hoping that you will drop them a chip just for being a friend. Some even asking for a handout.

These guys such phonies. But whether it is $5 bets or $500 bets these guys are a pain in the butt and hopefully the pit crew asks them to move on but if they don't I usually just stare at them until they move on. Other guys that try to be "helpful", I just tell them to put their money where their mouth is and either play or move on.

Worst case scenario (unless I am on a heater), if the pit crew doesn't help me get rid of the leech I usually just color up and move elsewhere, probably to another casino.
