Will be in Vegas 2 nights next week. Hope to get an upgrade to corner suite. Are some better than others? I have read to avoid the Cosmo side. Also how high do the corner suites go?
    thanks

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm booked for July 4th weekend in a regular room and just received an offer to upgrade to a corner suite for $70/night....

also wondering what they are like/if they are worth the upgrade cost!

IMO, no. Unless you are dying to have the separate room, it is not worth it. I have stayed in a couple corner suites, each with different layouts. Neither layout was aesthetically pleasing and for a suite, it all felt very cramped.

And I thought I was the only one not overly impressed with the corner suites. The do seem very small, and the "panoramic" ones all seem to have a great big pole in the middle of the living room with the TV attached to it so you can't really appreciate the view unless standing right at the windows. I think the city view ones have the panoramic windows in the bedroom, which looks quite nice.

The bathroom is really nice, and the suite does have a fridge to use which is nice. I know I personally wouldn't pay $70 a night for one.

They just feel small. I suspect it is the layout. I actually prefer the suite that's not really a suite at the end of the Bellagio hallways,

Wife and I stayed in one during MDW. Thought it was a decent smaller separate bedroom suite besides the very long walk from/to the elevators. Just make sure to close your blackout curtains in the whole room, living, bathroom, bedroom. Made a mistake of leaving all the curtains open in the suite and couldn't get back to sleep at 6am because of all the light in the room.

I have a reservation at Aria for July 7th and 8th in a panoramic corner suite. I got an e-mail for an upgrade to a city view sky suite for $70 per night. Do you think it's worth it or should I stick with my reservation. I will celebrate my birthday so I'd like something nice :)

    Definitely YES!!
    Well worth $70 for SkySuites.

The panoramic corner suites have the best views but feel the most cramped due to the pole in the living room.
If I do not stay in the SkySuites I ask for the corner suites that do not have the pole in the living room.

I have stayed in a bout 5 different floor plans for the corner suites.
For me,I always want the separate living room due to my sleep schedule is different from my wife in Vegas.
Also it insulates you from hall noise and I am a light sleeper.
SkySuites are great with a separate lobby for comp coffee etc. in the morning. No standing in the line at Starbucks.
No waiting for the elevator in a line.

Thank you for your feedback. I was looking online and they seem pretty much the same with better views in the panoramic as you said. That's why I'm a little tentative. I also have a 1 bdrm penthouse upgrade for $130 offer night. Decisions, decisions :). What's in the sky lounge other than coffee. I dinner care about the limo pick up because I drive. Just tryin tosee if it's worth it.

    Unlimited juice, water, cookies,soft drinks,fruit,etc.
Wine and cheese are available late afternoon.
I just appreciate the convenience of always having water, coffee and snacks available and not having to trek across the casino and stand in line.
Go for the $130 upgrade to the Penthouse. My host upgraded me a couple times and it was fantastic.

I agree with Nittany if you can get the sky suites. Just the coffee alone is worth it as there are usually huge lines at Starbucks and the pastry place just outside of the elevators in the morning time if that makes a difference to you.

ugh...after reading the responses to the thread I'm already disappointed to have jumped the gun and accepted the $70/night upgrade fee for the corner suite! This 3 night reservation is now costing me $826 (Thurs/Fri/Sat)

I do not normally play/stay at MGM properties so I have no chance of getting "a rate", I guess I should have just tried the sandwich...

Problem is we are staying at Aria on the July 4th weekend, so I suspect that the sandwich will not work due to the hotel being busy.

So the question is now do I...

    1. Call and cancel the "Upgrade" and try the sandwich for the corner suite on check-in
    2. Keep the upgrade and try a sandwich for an even better upgrade when I check -in (Any recommendations on what to ask for)?

FWIW, I am at Aria the same weekend and my host tells me they are packed. So without much play history, I'm not sure even the sandwich approach will get you anything. I suspect a lot of people will be trying the same thing and an upgrade over a corner suite (which I think is what you are suggesting) will be difficult to get that weekend just because a lot of rollers and regular players will already be in them. Hope that helps ....

OK, Thanks for the heads up...

I'm not sure if my play is enough for anything at Mlife/MGM (I will mostly likely run about 20k coin in per day on VP and an additional 2-4 hours daily of craps at $100/hand for 3 days...

Maybe they will knock off a few bucks on the backend!

You guys convinced me! I booked the upgrade so now I have two nights in a one bedroom penthouse city view :) It's more than I wanted to spend but I got it for half the price and it's my birthday :) I've only been to Aria once in a basic room and loved it, so I'm super excited to experience the penthouse!!!!! I'm a CET girl (easier to have comps with them) but I wanted something really nice for my birthday, can't wait!!!!! Thank you again for all of your feedbacks guys :)

+1 would like to know as well. What would you guys ask for if you are already booked in a corner suite and trying the $20 trick? Midweek stay
