I am not that familiar with the downtown area.

Where is the closest garage with free parking for both these casinos?

What is the closest intersection to those garages?

I think Binion's would be the closest, at the corner of Casino Center Street and Fremont Street. I believe it was 4 hours free parking. After you park your car in the Binion's parkade, take your ticket and validate it in Binion's. They used to have a machine on the back side of the cashier's cage but just ask someone if you can't find it. No one checks to see if you're gambling there.

That was last year though so it may have changed. I believe the Downtown Grand also has free valet parking but it's not as close (every casino downtown is a short walk from the Vegas Club and The D though).

    Here's a link to a downtown map: http://vegastodayandtomorrow.com/THEdowntownMAP.htm#.U5pcxChWik1

    Thank you.

We actually went downtown last year and I knew there was a casino nearby that had free parking. I am almost certain Binions is where we parked and I do recall getting my parking ticket validated at the cashier's cage.

I wonder why downtown does not have more free parking like the Strip?

I was in vegas this past weekend. Unfortunately there is a sign by the binion's player's club. Starting June 15 parking at binions will now only be for players and for restaurant patrons. I didn't ask how much play is needed to get free parking.

Unfortunately many of the hotels (cal, MSS) are requiring you to put in some play or eat at their restaurants to get free parking downtown.

Yikes! I was gonna say Binion's as well... parking's a mess down there. I had lunch at Triple George recently and that's where I parked... stamped my ticket inside Binion's on the way back, but looks like that's changed.

I went to the D 4 days/nights in a row this past week. I valeted right there at the D all 4 times. I tipped $5 everytime they brought the car back to me. I know you want free, so tip a buck. There were people doing that, I just figured $5 was fair. I think my longest wait was maybe 10 minutes, which is about the same amount of time if you walked.

Considering how much money we will be gambling I should get FREE parking!

    Principal I guess.

We could park at Main Street Station and walk 2 blocks. I have given Boyd casinos plenty of my money.

So you don't have to put in play (or eat at their restaurants) at the D to get 4 hours free parking? Is there a place where you can stamp your ticket to get free parking?

I guess the only place that has free parking is at the El Cortez. You need to have a player's card to park in the lot and during busy times you might be directed to the other parking structure. I wouldn't be surprised if the parking situation changes at the EC (need to put in play or eat at their restaurants) since many of the downtown hotels are going that way.

I believe you have to get validated at the Players Club counter

Sounds like you have to put in play to get it validated.

I called the D can was told this is true. I asked if this was a new policy and was told it was. I do not know how recent this changed.

I don't believe so. I was told there is not a minimum amount of play.

The garage is located at the intersection of Carson and 3rd.

The reason I knew this was I pulled in and got a ticket, I drove around the garage and changed my mind and left and decided to valet instead. I had to stick the ticket in a machine on my way out and the gate arm went up and I didn't have to pay. So it must read time stamp and realize I was in there less than 4 hours. There was a guy at players club counter saying he needed to get validated.
