First, If you say have a $25 match play that on any even money bet, can it be used on red or black in roulette? If so can you bet the $25 and match play on red, another $25 on black, and $1 or $2 on green? Best case would be win $23 or $24 and worst case lose $2. Just thinking in case you didn't want to risk $25 on the match play. Interested to hear responses as I an heading out next week.

No. You can't split up a match play from your real money. The $25 match must be bet along with your own $25 in cash.
Red and Black would be two seperate bets.

What you can do is get a friend to bet $50 of your cash on Red, while you bet your $25m+$25 on black.
You'd be guaranteed to hit one of them (minus 0/00 possibility). The worse you could do is push (lose the $50/cash and win $50 on the match play bet). If red comes up, you lose $25 in cash and make $50, for a net win of $25.

In my opinion, a far better way to play this would be to bet the $25m+$25 on either the pass-line or on a single-hand of 'free-bet' blackjack.
Free-bet blackjack promises the most opportunity, I think.
Picture this: You're dealt two 8s. You take the free split. you get a 2 on one hand, take the free double, and get a 3 on the other, again taking the free double.
    Dealer busts with a 23.
You make $200 for risking $25. (Assuming the casino will 'free-bet' the match-play value for you.)
If they won't 'free-bet' the match-play, you'd still make $125 on a $25 risk. ($50 on one double and $75 on the other - the one with your cash.)
    Original bet: $25+$25m. Split as a $50 hand + a $25 'free-split' hand. The $50 hand only gets a $25 free double for a total value of $75; the $25 hand also gets a $25 'free-double'. If they both win, that's a $50 win + a $75 win.

I don't think that's what he's asking. He wants to bet the $25+M25 on red and $25 on black and $1-$2 on the greens. He'd either win 25 if he hit red, break even if he hit black, or somewhere around break even if he hit 0-00 depending on how much he bet there.

I think what he wants to know is will the casino allow you to make offsetting bets like that? I don't know but if not, just use a friend.

OTOH, it seems like a lot of effort for $25. Just play your match play straight up.

They will let you do that.
(I thought you were asking if you could put match-play on red and your actual $25 on black. you cannot do that.)
I would still play it on 'freebet blackjack' if allowed...otherwise, I'd just pick a fresh deck for a single blackjack hand & see what happens.

    A couple of problems here:

    - It depends where the matchplay is for, but some casinos do not allow offsetting wagers.
    - Betting $1 or $2 on green: your outside bets have to meet the table minimum as do your inside bets. So if the table minimum is $5 (which is the lowest you will find at most places) you will need to put $5 on green.
    - As said: you can get around a no offsetting wagers by bringing a friend along to make the wager. But really? Dragging somebody along because you are too afraid to put $25 at risk on an almost 50-50 chance?

Why wouldn't you? You are risking $25 on what is effectively a 2 to 1 chance where you can win 3 to 1 back. Long term that is odds in your favor.

Plus I think your original numbers were off:
If you put $25+MP on red, $25 on black and $1 on each of the green numbers thats a total bet of $52 (you aren't going to find a single zero wheel letting you bet $1-2 inside)
    That would break down as:
47.35% chance to win $23 (Red)
47.35% chance to lose $2 (Black)
    5.3% chance to lose $16 (0 or 00)

If you have a friend with you who also has a $25 matchplay you can go to the craps table and try this technique:

Anybody ever tried something like this? I haven't had a chance yet. For matchplay I usually play pass line at craps or "player" bet at baccarat. Supposedly those are the best return for your money.

I will be alone for the first time on this trip. I'm sure I will go all or nothing as that is my nature. Though, I am always trying to figure out other options and do what is best at that time(ie having terrible luck or great luck). Thanks for all to thoughts and advice!
