We've been staying at the Mirage recently, but this trip my bride decided she wanted to try something new so we're staying at the Cosmopolitan. We usually rent a car (Pinball HoF!). I've seen a few different things about the parking garage at Cosmo. Any tips?

Its very easy to navigate just make sure you take the west elevators to get to the check in area. If you end up in the east elavator you will have to walk through the casino to get there. Exits are on both side of the building but i used the one where the valet and taxi line is since it seem easiest to get in and out of.

Thanks, Bommen. I appreciate your helpful reply. FWIW, I asked because:

#1. Never been to Cosmo before
#2. Saw a great tip on the Paris LV parking garage on this board years ago that I still use. Always a spot right by the elevators no matter how full the rest of the Paris garage is.

cosmos entrance/valet/parking is probably the most cramped and worst parking structure design on the whole strip. cosmo was built with no room to spare and if youre there on a busy weekend, sometimes it takes 10-20 min just to drive into the property.

I was there this weekend and it was super busy and never had any problems getting in and out.

I think the parking at Cosmopolitan is great. If you want a spot close to the elevator just drive down a few levels. The indicator lights showing open spots are great.

Hertz has the concession for rentals at Cosmo. I haven't gotten around to staying there or renting/returning from there yet, but I copied these notes down from someone who did. It's over a year old, so something may have changed (like the location of the desk), but I imagine it's mostly the same.

There are 2 parking garages. East garage (closest to Las Vegas Blvd) has an entry driveway on LVB, just north of Harmon. The West Garage, which is closest to the main check-in, is entered from Harmon Ave, about 100 yards west of LVB. As reported by others, self-parking is easy because of electronic signs and lighting (green/red) to guide you to open spots.

    Hertz:
To return take the car to level B5 and look for the Hertz spots by the east elevators. The take the elevator to Level 2, the Hertz desk is right next to the elevators.

After Hours - After hour returns are allowed. Park the vehicle in a Hertz designated stall located on Level B-5 by the east elevators. Leave the keys and Rental Agreement in the drop box located between Hertz stalls 6 and 7

Update. As of May 2012 the Hertz counter can be found on the main level of the casino. If you enter the main doors off Las Vegas Blvd and stay to the right side, they can be found in a narrow hallway leading to the elevators to the garage. They have moved several times and even hotel staff didn't know where they were. It took us 45 minutes to find them. If you can, verify their location ahead of time before you pickup the car.

+1. If you exit out of the Bellagio side it's a PITA to get onto LV Blvd due to the pedestrians crossing the street.

Agreed that the ped traffic can be challenging when using the east entrance. However it can be worth the challenge if headed Southbound on a night where LVB and Harmon is a xluster. . Yes. Those nights will mean tons of peds but patience can be rewarded. The porte cochere at Cosmopolitan is notoriously crazy on busy nights.

Thanks all for the great tips, everyone. Along with my trip report, we'll be sure to come back to this thread and update how it all worked out.
