"So, the losses kept adding up: $47 at Hold em, $250 at VP, lost freeplay opportunity, busted zipper, popped shirt button, the park at the Falls in chaos."
Sounds like a bummer Dewey but any trip is better than no trip at all. I think the $250 VP loss would have weighed heavily on me the most.
I try to visit casino websites that I am going to visit to see when the over 55 discounts or free play promos are. Sorry you lost out on the freeplay. Thanks for the report.

Thanks Jimbucc. I have been unable to get to Vegas, so I did not mind being entertained with the 8/5 VP and playing with my nephew. I pushed the envelope because there was nothing else by that time at night I wanted to do. I wasn't really bummed. I figuring it is a long summer before I get to play anything on VP. I did think it odd, because the 8/5 is not so volatile and I expected to stay more in place. In contrast, playing at Mohegan Sun on a 9/5 DDB I hit 4 Aces with kicker, my first ever. My real loss is that what few points I earned up at N. Falls will not be any good for me. In Vegas if I lose that much at Four Queens, I am least cementing my 3 free weekend night comps for the next trip.

For the one night $47 room charge, you could have stayed in Vegas for a week.

Thanks for posting and hope you are able to return to Vegas soon. I gave up local gambling in the 1990s (have only returned 3 times for "Road to Rewards" checkpoint outings) and Vegas becomes more of a treat and destination. Wouldn't mind hitting up poker games in Florida or Gulf Coast when I retire, which is still approximately 150 months away, but who is counting. :)

Glad you found some nice places to hit up on your trip, and enjoyed your time w/ your nephew.

Dewey, your comeback "I don't have $5 and a frog" was pretty funny and I can see how it shut the young guy down.

Yep. I'm now working on 14 days in Vegas for under $100. We'll see how that works out.

    Thanks for the nice comment.

Well, once in a while us old guys just have the right choice of words. But actually it was the young guy to my left laughing for ten minutes and repeating the line while he almost fell on the floor that cinched the word win.
I wish it wasn't like that, and it isn't so much in limit. Take the pretty Asian woman who loved having me explain what my card protector was saying on the Mohegan Sun trip.

Here there was no contest. We were just sharing a surreal moment and a laugh together. I'll take that experience over the witty comeback any day. Still, I was glad to show that old age and guile can often defeat youth and sarcasm.
Thanks Hammie. Hope things are going well for you and you are winning.

Thanks for your interesting report Dewey. We go to Seneca once a week and I play the tournaments. The cash games have no meat for the average player. By the way, all the poker at Brantford is limit except for their tournaments. Some of their games are Kill or half Kill as well.

I see that the lowest limit games are 5-10. So how does the kill or half kill work on those?

The website you have is not correct. Their lowest limit used to be 1-2 but I am pretty sure they discontinued that and now it is 2-5 and 4-8 and they can be no Kill, full Kill or half Kill depending on the table. The higher limits are not Kill games. On Fridays they have a 50-100 game but I don't know how many runners they get.

Thanks Redzone. I'd love a 2-5 limit game. Just perfect for my bankroll. It will be a long while before I am up that way again, but I hope to make it up one of these days. Thanks for the information. Any good tips on where to stay or eat? Any sense of places to visit. I like 19th century painting and I have found some hints of a major Canadian painter in exhibits there, but the websites confuse me. I'm not much for gardens, so I won't be drawn to the famous one unless the art if worth it.

Sorry to hear about your less-than-stellar trip to my neck of the woods. I don't play poker so most of your report was lost on me, but you hit the nail on the head about the Chiavetta's. Best. Marinade. Ever!

I'll be marinating with it tomorrow and cooking chicken in Friday. I can already taste it.

Thanks for the trip report. I always enjoy them. I have never played live poker but I am thinking about it!
