How does the casino see my 4 Hours of action?

I don't think I have a seen a question like this anywhere on the board so here goes. Knowing that casinos are looking for 4 hours a day of gaming, are they looking for you to play that time on one game? Most people post that they play a particular game @ $$ for XX hours over a trip. I probably put in 6 plus hours a day gaming but I am all over the casino. A day's gaming for me includes some $25-50 BJ, $25-50 pai gow, $10 3CP/LIR, $.25-1 VP, video BJ, $.25-1 WOF slots and possibly any other slot that catches my eye as I walk by. I have even sat down at an UTH slot. I'll play $10 craps if I'm with friends (for some reason I prefer the buddy system when playing craps) betting pass line and place a few numbers. I may not play all of those on one day but it's a pretty sure thing I'll play at least 3 of them.

So how does the casino rate that? Do they combine my table play and average it out? How do they combine slot and table play to rate you?

I think I get good offers. I can't remember the last time I payed for a room and now I'm starting to get very modest FP offers, resort credit and comp show tickets. So I'm not really looking to score more comps (unless y'all think I should). I'm really just curious as to how the casino rates someone like me as opposed to a strictly BJ, slots, VP player.

notsure what type of hotel property you are looking to get comps at at your level or what you are already get comped at

when a host pulls up the screen they do see all the play but its by each differnt time period, so the longer u sit at one table the longer they have better chance of winning your money.

if you do 10 minutes of each to make up 4 hours it drives them crazy but if its an hour of bj, then an an hour of craps and so on they dont care

Ultimately it comes down to theo. The mix of games you play to arrive at that theo doesn't really matter.

They can see the details of each individual session whether it be 10 mins or 10 hours, but the number they are looking at is total theo.

Even the 4 hours of play thing isn't a real benchmark they use, it's just a way for them to easily explain things to people instead of trying to explain theo.

And for slot play the time doesn't matter at all, it comes down to coin-in which is an exact number. Time is meaningless on slots.

I've never really had the 4hrs/day thing harped on. The host just says you were rated at $X for Y hours and this is what we can give you. And I've had it hit or miss on if they reveal theo. This past trip I learned my actual theo.

Depends on where you are staying? If you are staying off strip (Orleans, Palms, South Point) you should ask for more. On the strip its a fair comp structure.

Thanks kicken. I know coin-in is pretty easy to figure. Do they just calculate the theo for each game and then add it all up to get a total theo? Thanks for the reply.

Some times the host will say "We expect atleast 4 hours of play at your normal level"...basically implying thats what it will take to cover your upfront comps.

No, this was a personal machine that you play heads up against the computer. I think its was $1 min (I think)

I get comp rooms at Mirage, MB, NYNY and Luxor regularly (so mid to low tier for mlife). Never gotten anything from MGM or Monte Carlo but I never play there. I get good rates at Bellagio/Aria ($89/$79). Recently, the last year or so, I've also been offered free play and resort credit. I'm happy with what I am offered and not looking for more. Over time I have gone from red chips to green chips and feel like my comps reflect that. I don't usually sit down at a table unless I plan on being there at least an hour. But you can bust out pretty quickly at 3CP and LIR so there are times I haven't made it an hour. I was really wondering if the way I play, game hopping, would affect me negatively. You all have answered my question....thank ya much!

Thanks. This will help me better track my play.

I don't have a host but I have learned the "4 hour" rule from this forum. This is all good info to help me be a smarter gambler and get the bang for my entertainment buck

Can you give me the approximate location at Excal. And is it regular holdem or ultimate Texas Holdem.

It is near the digital roulette machine (near tower 1, I think). I dont know the different between regular and ultimate...its just like they play on TV...but you play against the computer

Thank you. Ultimate is like regular except that you get paid odds on the type of hand you make.

Yeah, that Ultimate Texas Hold'em is a table game in the casino, playing against the casino, so to speak. Those Texas Hold'em games they are talking about are Limit Texas Hold'em played heads-up against a computer opponent.
