My current offer which I booked for my brother for this weekend is for 3 nights and $80 in FP.

My latest mailer arrived yesterday for July through August. Wow! 1 night free, no FP and additional nights for $25 Sun-Thur and weekends for $55.

I don't stay there, I just double book, but I give them 4-6 hrs of $1 VP one day and that has usually been enough to keep the decent offers coming. I guess they caught up with me. The disappointed one is my brother who usually gets to use my offer if we are in town at the same time. He might actually have to pay for a room!

That is a big downgrade. I still don't have mine but I hope I don't see the same thing. I am at the $200 free play level for June and am hoping for the same thing in July. Not that I need justification but that is what started the idea of a long summer trip this year.

Sorry to hear that Joe. I was counting on a three night weekend later in the year.
Try calling a host and asking for clarification. Sometimes it is just a glitch. A host booked 3 nights for me when I called, off the mailing.
The regular offers did seem overly generous. I was certain they could not last forever.
I don't always get the mailers for some reason. I did just get one for the weekend slot tournament. Still 3 nights and free food.
I too build my trips around the Four Queens offers. However, I am a long way away in New York state. That might make a marketing difference because they compete with Atlantic City and all the local casinos as well.

Just an aside...my brother has stayed at Downtown Grand twice now on comped rooms. He and his wife each got a mailer yesterday for another 2 nights each in June. He says he hasn't gambled one dime in the place, but the offers keep coming. I also was getting offers after maybe running $40 through a bartop, but didn't get an offer yesterday. We're in the boonies, so maybe Monday's mail, or, I'm off the list.

Just reread the offer. I actually have to buy the first night in order to get one night free.

Seems like they're going downhill. While most of the downtown casinos appear to be making an effort to slowly upgrade, the Four Queens has gotten much more tight-fisted. We dropped a few hundred in the video poker machines in February. Got a couple of crap*y offers in March and April, nothing since. We got home last night from our five-day trip, staying at the Downtown Grand (second stay - nice place, our new downtown favorite for rooms) and the Plaza on comp deals. We hadn't given either of them the play we've given the Four Queens, which was our go-to place for video poker for years.

We played at eight different properties this trip, and didn't set foot in the Four Queens until yesterday (Saturday) morning. We didn't have to leave for the airport until about 1:00, so we had a few hours of game time left. The Four Queens is back in my good graces for the moment, because at last I'm the guy who sat down at the double bonus progressives and hit the royal after about five hands. I've been sitting there on a couple of occasions over the years dropping Benjamins and seen others walk up, put in a $20 and hit it . Only bad part is that it was $1203.54, so I had to fill out the IRS paperwork. But my gambling losses over the year will no doubt more than offset that. I'd put in $300, expecting to hammer the machine for a couple of hours. I was at $297.50 when it hit (had a couple of money-back hands along the way). I had to tell the folks around me who apparently had been playing much longer and gave me the "gee, you just sat down" line that I'd been in town for five days so it wasn't like this was my first time.

Don't feel bad. I went from RFB including Hugos 400 slot play and 80 table bet to the same offer Joe got basically buy one night get one night. Kinda insulting. To make matters worse, Last trip I spent 2 nights at the Plaza. I dropped over $3000 in 2 days. The offer to retain my loyalty........Monday - Thursday 3 nights.

I go where I am wanted. Obviously the 4Q and the Plaza do not need my play. I usually go to Vegas for 3-5 nights with a $1500 to $2000 day loss limit. I am willing to bet that Boyd and even the Nugget will give me some love for that kind of action.

    Looking for a new home,
    The Drake

I received the buy one night get one free offer in the mail the other day from Four Queens - included $20 in free slot play. They must be casting a wide net with that offer because I usually only give them an hour or so at quarters when i'm staying elsewhere.

The Downtown Grand sent me the two nights free in June offer despite only putting 5 bucks through a VP machine there last month.

I used to get $80 FSP. Today I got my offer for $40. Also, offered 2 nights, not 3 like usual.

I had already booked the D for 3 free nights plus $50 FSP + $25 food, etc.

Funny thing is that last trip I played both places & put a lot more coin in at the D.

Go figure....just go with the flow & be happy!

    Marksind,
Personally, I wouldn't put them back in my good graces because I hit a royal on one of their machines unless it results in better offers. I would just add it to the bankroll I use on my next trip in the casinos that ARE giving me good offers.

    Good Luck!

I cant say this for all the casinos but I know for a fact that certain local casinos and a few of the downtown casinos are clamping down on offers for people only playing full pay or close to full pay vp. People are backed off vp all the time you just dont hear about it much. Im not surprised they are doing this to out of town visitors as well.

    joespoolhall,

You're right. I really don't feel any warmer or fuzzier toward the 4Qs because I hit the progressive royal. I'm just happy after all the years of feeding those beastly machines I finally did! Since it was only about an hour before we had to head to the airport, it went home with us and into my "gambling" bank account for our next trip. Sort of sad, because if it had been earlier in our trip my wife and I would have gone to Hugo's or Oscar's or the steak house at the D to celebrate.

I doubt I'll get any offers, since on this trip I cost them money. I love the casino anxiety about "full pay" video poker. This is the first trip in years that we've come out ahead. 90% of our time is spent playing "full pay" machines, but we still typically lose hundreds, or even a grand or more, over the course of a few days playing at the 25 cent max bet level. My wife is just unlucky (six or seven years, six or so trips to Las Vegas or Reno every year, and never a royal flush) and after a few hours my play deteriorates. It's just entertainment to me, so those "free" drinks cost me dearly over the course of a day! The casino rake on our play averages 8% or so of our throughput based on the loose statistics I keep. Full pay my butt!

My regular offer is about the same as yours, and today's mailer came with no change for me either.

I remember about 2-3 years ago I had one offer out of the blue that was a drastic cut. I assume it was an error because the next mailer went back to the normal offer.

You could have received a generic offer. Wait till the next offer to see what's happening.

My latest offer went up from the last one to the $300 FP, food covered, one Hugo's meal.
