Will be arriving January 24, 2015. What to expect weather wise? Is it busy at this time? Will be staying at Bally's, hope most of the construction will be done with.

January is the coldest month of the year. Avg low is in the low 30's. Depending on where you are from, that can be refreshing or frigid. Days will be generally sunny with avg highs in the 50's. Winds can be strong so wind chill will play a major factor

They say that the Bally's bazzar should be completed later this year so that shouldn't be a factor

CES is very early in January 2015 so you will not have to worry about that.

    Have fun but pack warm.

I haven't looked at the schedule yet, but I think that is the weekend before the Super Bowl. If so, it is probably the slowest January weekend in Vegas. Big conventions and NFL playoffs for the first few weeks in January. Then, of course, SB is a big week.

    What Morty says.

Lows in the 30s highs could get to 60s. The highs could also be in the 40s.

    36 degrees F = 2 degrees C
    46 degrees F = 8 degrees C
    56 degrees F = 13 degrees C

If it rains, it will usually be cold and misty. Pretty miserable actually.

You will want a light coat at minimum. Some casinos might actually be running their air conditioning.

If you plan on being out at night, it WILL be cold.

Most of the pools undergo maintenance or complete makeovers December to February. Hot tubs should be functioning.

There will be professional football playoffs. Other than that, no major pro sporting or college sporting events.

I do NYE in vegas every years so generally ib vegas like December 28th-january 4th or 5th. I've never really planned a trip directly in january though. It will be kinda cold. Not midwest cold but cold for the west coast. I notice everyone really heads home around January 1-3. So there really won't be a big crowd when you get there.

I LOVE Vegas in January!! I've been in October and it was way hotter than I was expecting...and I've been in mid-January (around the MLK holiday) and in Feb just after the Valentines holiday and January was just great for me!!

My sister and I wore jeans/t-shirts during the day (maybe even flip flips/sandals) and at night a long sleeve something was necessary - I brought a jacket but didnt use it - my sister did but she gets colder more easily..

it was quite breezy at night which made it feel even colder, and we also stayed at Ballys (loved it & the location!!) and the walk across the street to Bellagio/Caesars/Mirage was quite nippy at night!! From one end of the strip to the other we took cabs b/c she wasn't walking in the "chilly night breeze"...

February was also great - but warmer! My DH wore jeans/shorts and I wore capri's and wished I'd brought shorts!

I think it also depends on where the sun is and if you're walking in it or not...:evillaugh

My next trip (I'm hoping!!) will be next January - same time around MLK weekend...if not, it will be the next October...

    great time/weather for us!!

If you like downtown Vegas... it's not too bad. We always go the last week in December, staying at the D, and once you arrive at the casino, you only need a sweater. Other casinos are only a step or two away and usually under the canopy... which helps to keep the wind off of you.
    ---
I take a warm jacket on the plane and the only time I use it downtown is when we go a couple of blocks to El Cortez, because there is a lot of open space for the wind to cause you to be cold.
    ---
On the strip with the wide open spaces between casinos... it is very cold and windy usually!

You can google weather in Vegas during Dec/Jan.
There is usually a chance of snow during this time which gives an indication of how cold it can get.

Been the last 2 January's and was lucky w weather.. Low to mid 60s at daytime. Wore shorts twice...not nearly as crowded as other times of year....very strange to walk the strip w a jacket...that weekend is afc/nfc champ weekend...great place to be for games(was this year) like a mini Super Bowl feel.
