What's going on CET - Flamingo - End of July?

The end of July is really busy with multiple room types booked up at the Flamingo and other CET hotels.


Anything special going on at the time? - We are talking mid week days also.

 

7/27-7/31 'Las Vegas Market, Summer 2014'. World Market Center. 50,000 attendees.
Do not recall what CES had.

 

Maybe the Las Vegas Market 2014 with 50,000 expected attendee's perhaps on the 27th - 31st?

Also, I have an invite to a $150K Video poker tournament on the 25th-28th

 

What kind of convention is the "Las Vegas World Market"?

We're booked at Flamingo and Aria. 7/27-8/02. Deal was done in Mid-March with no problem and a decent rate.

Did I pick a bad week(overcrowded) because of that convention being in town?

 

I guess the pool must have something to do with it.

All other CET hotels are showing lots of availability - even some comps - but Flamingo has many sold out rooms!

Is it better to try to check in early, or late and hope to get upgraded? We have a Go Deluxe 2 Queen booked.

 

It's a furniture show. Yes, it will be busy but I don't recall Vegas feeling any busier due to it.

 

I'm also interested in best time to check in. We'll be at Flamingo 7/30-8/3. Booked a Fab King and was hoping to get upgraded to a Go room with the $20 trick.

 

Check the rate calendar...but I think the GO rooms are sold out those dates.

 

The $20 trick can be great but this is a prime example of booking a room you will be happy with. Unless they have a late 'hold' for rooms for convention attendees that will be released after their booking deadline date, you will likely not get an upgrade.

Thanks for the info. I'm not too picky and we won't be spending too much time in the room anyway. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll release rooms at the last minute.
