Do you exercise when in Vegas? What do you do if you do and where?

I do. Cardio and free weights at the hotel gym (whichever hotel I'm staying at.) Maybe not everyday but I try to stick to every other day.

Put a couple black chips on black and that'll get the heart rate up.

The Hubs sleeps way later than me, so I've taken to going down to the gym in the morning to let him sleep (assuming I'm not hung over, which isn't always a safe assumption). I walk on the treadmill and listen to my iPod.

I figure I need to get some exercise in because I will be putting those drinks away.

Always take the stairs back to my room at the end of the night if im on floor 30 or lower. Seems to prevent hangovers getting a good sweat in before bed.

That's my routine as well! I get more exercise in Vegas than I do at home.

Depending on the weather.. either do early morning strip power walk.. or go to the Gym.. depends on the day.. the GYM at Aria can get Really packed. Last trip my BFF and I walked 21+miles in three days. She has a Fitbit and she monitored it for us. Worked off the Gelato we had EVERY NIGHT.

I've never worked out in Vegas until my last trip only because it cost money to use their gyms. I'm a cheapskate. Figured I walked enough during the days on the strip anyways. Then I stayed at PHo where the mandatory resort fee includes use of the gym. I usually went late afternoon where it may have had one or two other people in it. Not sure if I was allowed to use the shower facilities (part of the spa) but i did anyways. Nice to be able to shower and change before leaving the gym. Now, they do close around 7pm so one day, I climbed the stairs after 8pm. PHo has about 40 floors. I only did it once but my buddy who's the one who really forced us to workout, ran it 3 times I think (same session). He ran the strip once in the morning and even then, he got tired of dodging people.

When I have the rental car I head out to Summerlin and use the Lifetime Fitness facility there. If using a hotel gym, Aria was my favorite.

Because of the warm weather, I like do a lot of long-distance running when in Vegas.
My favorite is the perimeter of McCarran with Sunset Park mixed in - about 10 miles total.
When I'm looking for a softer surface to run on, the track at UNLV is usually open in the daytime and early evening
A couple other places I've used are the sidewalks around the LVH/Convention Center and the parking lots of the Cashman Field downtown.

Hiking to the top of Mt. Charleston is a lot of fun too. This summer, the plan is to bag all three peaks (Griffith, Charleston, Mummy) in one day - about 30 miles RT.

I use lvtc.org which has a race calender to find a race while I am there. I head out to Red Rock Canyon and hit some of the trails there, too. Send a private message if anyone wants some gps profiles via Garmin, Strava or Runningahead.

I'm on east coast time, and am not really good at sleeping in, anyway. So I'm usually up by 6:00 or at the latest 7:00 in Vegas. I do a run on the strip, from my midstrip hotel up past Encore and back.

It barely counts as a run, I suppose. It can't be more than a couple miles and you have to stop for traffic lights and bound up overpass steps. But it feels slightly healthy and I enjoy the oddity of the strip at that time: the strange aroma of Flamingo, the PA announcements at Margaritaville and Casino Royale, the tranquility of the Mirage volcano area. Sometimes I'll take a break and run into a casino just to see what's up (usually not much).

Then I run back, get a coffee and a pastry at whatever lobby coffee bar my hotel has, and head back to the room for breakfast.

(Last trip I did discover the joys of blackjack at 6 in the morning, so that may replace at least one of my runs on the upcoming trip...)

Every morning cardio and plus/minus weight training, was dissapointed in the gym included w the resort fee at MGM only cardio...pay extra for the "nice" gym..this "cardio room" was a horrible crowded large closet.

    Luxor-decent
Monte Carlo-only complaint is limited area to warm up and stretch, but thay had some nice spin bikes last time I was there and hope they are in working order when I arrive in 2 weeks
Venetian-best gym I have used yet w large amount of available equipemt, I think they even offered classes, huge weight training area. and trainers roaming the floors...
Harrahs was decent, similar quality to Monte Carlo

Always did speed-walking early in the morning before crowds got bad....but that is about it other than walking miles & miles each day. Son-in-law goes to the gym at Caesars everyday & loves their equipment.

When I am flying solo(quite often), I just walk a lot. One trip I tried to run the strip, but I ended up stopping at casinos to see what they looked like. So it stopped being a run and it was more of me being a tourist in running gear which meant no money on me whatsover.

Walking from Palms/Gold Coast/Rio to the strip is not too bad in the daylight. On hot days it sucks, just bring water.

I walk up and down the strip hitting casinos and seeing if anything is new.

On the return trip, I will grab whichever shuttle is closest to me Gold Coast/Rio/Palms and take the shuttle back. Once in awhile I do walk back.
