    Hello everyone!
I have been reading the posts on this page for over a year now and with just over 3 weeks until I visit Las Vegas for my first time I thought I would post my “introduction” ….

So on 11th June, 6 of us from Essex, England, UK will be flying out to Las Vegas from Gatwick on Virgin Airways. The trip is for my Stag Do …. Bachelor Party … Hence my user name.. TheStag! :wink2:

We depart from Gatwick at 11:25 BST and 10hrs 45mins later we land in Las Vegas at 14:10 local time. We are staying for 6 nights at MGM Grand in Executive Queen Suites. Apart from one of us we are all Vegas Virgins … and the one who isn’t hasn’t been for over 10 years!
We will be heading to Downtown on our first night … dressed in our worse shirts ever … it’s Sh*t Shirt Night! Whoever has the worse shirt wins! The jet lag is going to be tough but it’s all about powering through as Vegas isn’t for sleeping!   :drunk: :drunk: :drunk:

On the Thursday we are going to explore the strip, plus Brazil v Croatia kicks the World Cup off so we might catch that game whilst having some lunch as kick off is 13.00 local time. In the evening we have a private poker tournament set up for the 6 of us – this is going to be fun! :Þ
Then Thursday night four of us are heading to Hakassan for Tiesto. :drunk:

Friday we have a cabana booked at MGM Grand with a min $800 limit – bring on the shrimp and the cocktails!
Saturday its England v Italy at 15.00 and then its Norman at Light

Sunday I think we are checking out Downtown and might hit the Mob Museum. Then later on hit a shooting range … I like the sound of Battlefield where I can do a D-Day experience – love WWII history. Then it’s into our suits for “Steak and Suit” Night … with the obligatory photo round the Bellagio fountains “Oceans 11 Stylie”

Then on the Monday we have a Helicopter tour over Lake Mead, hoover dam and into the Grand Canyon.

Then we depart for the long journey home, taking off at 16.35 landing back in the UK at 10.30 local time the following day.

During the trip defiantly want to have a good gamble at the casinos, looking forward to Craps, Blackjack and might even enter a public poker tournament. Can’t wait to eat at some of the great restaurants and drink at some of the amazing bars including; Margharitaville @ Flamingo Hotel and Casino, Guy's Vegas Kitchen @ The Quad, Senor Frogs @ Treasure Island and Chandelier Bar @ The Cosmo to name but a few.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has posted a trip report as not only has it helped me get excited but also helped me “bookmark” certain places that look a “must visit”.
22 days and counting. I can’t wait … going to be Epic. :faint:

Sounds brilliant. You guys are going to have an amazing time. I would add the brew pub at main street station casino to the visit list when you are downtown, definitely worth trying the beer there.

downtown on the day you land... good luck with that.. you are gonna be hurting bad from the jet lag.

also have a look at Ellis Island on Koval - walkable from the strip.

brewpub with a value restaurant and a decent bbq (opens at 4pm until it runs out). some decent beers there.

  9. Right opposite you it's NYNY which has an Irish pub called 9 fine Irish men, well worth trying out particularly if you have any cider drinkers in your group as cider is not easy to get in the states in general.

Without a doubt, your better half!!!

Laddie, if there is anyone needing an avatar, 'tis you! A photo of a big buck with a full rack would fit the bill.

Good luck, take some notes and photos, you will have a ready market waiting to hear of epic tales of a bunch of Vegas Virgins from the UK.

    Puke and rally!!

always use the bins though - pit bosses get a bit precious about puking inside the casino.

and and if your friends fall first be kind and help them by taking photos..

  14. If that's the case, you might want to walk down to Mandalay Bay where they have an Irish Bar called Ri Ra, put the two words together, depending on where your Irish allegiances lie that might be a good thing for you, or a bad thing :haha:

    Hey TheStag,

we have 10 guys flying out from Ireland for a stag do (I'm best man) on the 11th June for 5 nights - also staying the MGM in Executive Queens!

Unfortunately we couldn't get the Gatwick flight (was crazy $$$ when we went to book) so connecting in Atlanta and land about 7pm!

Will probably cross paths with you guys at some stage over the 5 days, altho the MGM alone is HUGE! Enjoy it.
