    Hey all!

I received an offer through Total Rewards for a free rounteip flight on Frontier for myself with a $119 companiin fee. The trip can be from 2-5 nights.

I'm certainly considering going as that would be a super cheap getaway for my husband's bday.

Has anyone recently stayed at Harrahs AC?

Anyone had any recent experience with any of the airr rewards trips?

    Thanks fo any help :)

We have never taken a free junket because we've never been offered one. However, we live in NJ and regularly visit Harrah's AC. It's a very nice property on the marina. To get to the Boardwalk you would need to take a shuttle (provided free of charge by Harrah's.) On a nice day you can walk to the Golden Nugget or Borgata. There are several towers. We prefer the Bayview tower. If you like buffets, the buffet at Harrah's is one of the best in AC and there are several upscale restaurants also. Can't remember what they are b/c we always eat at the buffet or diamond lounge. If you are diamond the DL's in AC are far superior to those at any other CET property. What else would you like to know?

Harrah's also has a great indoor pool in an enclosed atrium if you enjoy pools.

I don't think Frontier serves Atlantic City, does this reward specify an airport? The closest airports served by Frontier are Wilmington, Philly, Trenton, and Newark.

I will second the recommendation for the Bayview Tower, we just stayed there about three weeks ago and it was a large room with a nice view. The Buffet was also pretty awesome, but in the evenings the line can get long. Bill's Burger bar was nothing to write home about and I didn't care for Sammy's either, maybe it was an off night. Haven't been to the other restaurants.

Then again, I'm partial to the Jersey shore in the summer, so I'm not the most objective. For the last few years the weather in June has been awesome. Water temps are too cool for bathing, but the weather is usually great for taking a walk along the boardwalk and checking out some of the other CET properties. Or, you can head over to the Golden Nugget and have a beer on the outdoor bar overlooking the Marina, no charge for the refreshing salt air!

Thank you so much for the responses! I really do think we're going to do the June 25th trip. It's too good of a deal to pass up. As for the flight, it clearly says ticket pick up at Frontier ticket counter, but it does not specify the arrival airport. Transportation to and from the airport is included though, so it won't matter too much to us.

What evening activities can be had by a mid 40-50s couple? My husband and I enjoy all top 40, r&b. We're not so into clubs, but we do love a good lounge with strong pours.

The Eden Lounge in Harrahs has good live bands

My recommend as Hammie stated is to take the 15 min. walk over to Golden Nugget if the weather is pleasant to enjoy music on the deck or inside.Right before you leave check a website called Atlantic City Weekly. It has drop down menus that detail lounge listings, happy hours, restaurant reviews, gambling promos and just about everything going on in AC.
As far as the air goes, you can check Frontiers website and see where they fly from your locality. Harrahs does have some charter flights to ACY from different locations also. It may be that you just pick up the tickets from Frontier .
We much prefer the "fine dining " restaurants in the GN over Harrahs.

Sounds like this offer is for a specific date from an airport near you, so its probably a charter flight into ACY with a bus into Harrah's.

One of these years, I'm going to make it over to Memories in Margate, just down the island from the casinos. Its a bar owned by Jerry Blavat, aka The Geator, a disc jockey who's been at it since the 1950's. The man is a walking encyclopedia of music and obscure groups from that era. He still has a local radio show and it may be syndicated.

Jerseyguy's suggestion is a good one, AC Weekly is a good resource.

You can meet Jerry B every thursday night at GN

I never heard of him till we moved south. He works the room ,says hello to everybody .His show is geared to Philly people obviously ,he has a group that follows him there and does a line dance we never saw before. Nice enough guy ,but much prefer a live band.

Jerry Blavat is live at 5pm at the Golden Nugget AC every Thursday. His "Dance Party" starts at 4PM and runs till 8PM. You will see a lot of no-longer "Yon Teens" at these events.

Jerry is a Legend in the Philly and South Jersey areas.

LOL Guys, I'm 42, my husband is 51.

I'm from Chicago, so we have tons of "grown and sexy" lounges. Is that Jerry playing current music? Having 3 teens unfortunately we're exposed to a lot of today's music, but having "tweens" at home makes us not want to spend time with them on vacay. I'm not too keen with partying up with my 72 year old mom either tho.

In Vegas we always enjoyed Ballys lounge (before the remix), carnival court, Harrah's piano bar.

The Golden Nugget will be on the list. Is the Boardwalk reminiscent of Freemont or Ft Lauderdale or Miami Riverwalk?

Definitely not Fremont. I haven't been to Ft Lauderdale or the Miami Riverwalk. The AC Boardwalk is a wide expanse several miles long with casinos dotted along the way-not nearly as seedy as downtown although you will see a few panhandlers. Very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. You can also rent bikes and ride along the Boards in the AM or go to the beach is the weather is warm enough.

AC Weekly is updated on Wed. Morning

Gives you a complete listing of all the lounges for that week.

    Hey there, MrsB,

The busiest casino in AC is Harrahs. It will be very quiet at the Golden Nugget compared to Harrah's. Harrah's pulls in all ages on a saturday night. The young hip hoochies all hang out at the pool with their guest DJs and take over the X bar while the older crowd fills up the Eden lounge and listens to cover bands playing Bon Jovi and Billy Joel.

The burger bar gets crowded and it's quite mediocre. Sammy D's is pretty good. The Mexican place upstairs attracts the younger crowd. Beware that some of the restaurants are not open during the week. The buffet is very good but it's not open everyday, either.

The deck at Golden Nugget is good but the casino is rather ordinary.

If you're on the Boardwalk, look for the older homeless cross-dressing dancer guy. He's a trip.

AC is nice in season so June 25 is a solid
Time to go. Go once. That's enough.

Sadly, he's not a good cross dresser.

There are many rolling chairs on the Boardwalk. They will roll you down for a fee. It's sort of like a rickshaw but they push instead of pull. Rates are very negotiable.
