Are there any casinos on, or off strip, that are currently matching other casinos players cards level? I know some places offer it on occasion for promotion, but are there any that are currently running?
My casino/hotel (Plaza and Las Vegas Club) does offer tier matching. Basically, if you have a players card from the other casino we will match its tier. We do this for most of the other properties but, not all. Also, that tier match will count for CY 2014. When CY 2015 comes around that tier level would have had to be truly maintained to continue that tier for 2015. Example: Tier match between MGMs Platinum level would be Ace level for us. To keep that Ace level for 2015 you must have earned 100,000 points in 2014 as a tier matched Ace to continue the Ace level in 2015. Any questions please feel free to contact me through email.
Yeah, I think Plaza is the last one that does tier matching outside of it being some special promotion. That last time this topic came up some said Cosmo still did and some said Cosmo no longer does it. Of course the big thing in all this is: without the required amount of play there is often little to no benefit to have your tier matched within another player club chain. IE: if you were a Total Rewads Diamond and MLife was tier matching and gave you an MLife Platinum card it'd basically just be a line pass for check in and a few restaurants... it doesn't mean you are suddenly going to start getting great offers with hundreds of dollars in free play and hundreds of dollars worth of resort/food credit to spend.
Cool. I'm gold at both but will head downtown in a few weeks. I haven't been to the Plaza since the remodel so I figure I'd check it out and get a shiny fancy card. Are there any catches with the $100 loss rebate? According to vpfree2 there is some ok Job and BP so I wouldn't mind checking out the place.
Some of our promotions have changed. I just posted an update in another thread. I am also not sure if VPFREE2 has updated our VP changes just yet considering how recent our changes were. But here is an update: Hello, PlayLV management would like to thank all of you for your suggestions and comments concerning our properties. Although some suggestions may not be feasible, due to various reasons, we have made some great improvements that we believe will attract and please a wide variety of guests. These changes were made with gaming and non-gaming guests in mind to create an environment for all to enjoy. I will be touching on a wide variety of topics in no particular order. 1. “Give away rooms liberally Sunday-Thursday with resort fee waived.” This we do consistently and effectively. Resort fees are waived on complimentary rooms automatically. If a guest does not have the play to warrant a fully comped room stay, we hosts do have the option of comping the resort fee. Please contact me by email if you would like to discuss your comps further. My email address is attached in my signature. 2. “Change all your video poker to 99%-99.99%.” Effective immediate we have added new VP pay tables to be competitive with other downtown properties. As a start, we now have eight VP machines, located by the Craps machine, that have various over 99% payouts. Come try them and give us your opinions. 3. “Win cards…” We are in the works for this concept as well and expect this promotion to be up and running by the end of May. 4. We have a new promotion that started May 10, 2014. SPIN 2 WIN. Every 500 points gets you a ticket to enter the drawing on Saturday nights. That drawing then gives you a chance to spin and win up to $1000.00. New member signups also get one free ticket to enter the drawing, a free slice of pizza from Pop Up Pizza, and one free Louie Anderson ticket once the new member earns 100 points. 5. Downtown only Royal Flush FREE Slot Play Bonus. Basically, hit a Royal Flush with max bet on $1 VP or below and win up to $1000 in FSP based on your tier level. 6. We will be implementing day time $3 BJ and working on new live craps promotions at both properties during the day by mid May. 7. We have moved our poker room’s location to make room for our new lounge by our Omaha Bar. This is, in fact, is where the lounge used to be at the Plaza and was made famous by the “Sunspots” many years ago. The aim of this is to enhance the atmosphere of the entire casino with live music near the pit and casino entrance. We think this will be very popular because of the bands and the openness to enjoy drinks and mingle. 8. During the recent moves, we have placed new reel and progressive jackpot machines on the slot floor. Come and try them out. ☺ 9. We now have a new security podium. The placement of the podium gives our security personnel the advantage of seeing all aspects of the casino for the protection of our guests and employees. This is also gives security the chance to field guests questions or concerns while on property. So, feel free to say hi to our security staff on the podium.
I can confirm that Cosmo will not match, as of last week. Tropicana has a sign at their players club indicating they would match. When I inquired, they said it was only for locals (which I am not.)
This is exactly correct. In Vegas, there isn't a lot of benefits from tier matching. In AC, Borgata Tier Matches, but that gives you free parking, ability to go into the players club for drinks/dinner or buffet for $10 in comp dollars, plus line pass. Of course, this is good for Borgata also since you have to play to get comp dollars and free parking doesn't really cost them anything. Plus, they get a rated player into their casino. Hmm, there is only one casino doing really well in AC....What is its name again? Oh yeah, Borgata....
