I stayed there probably four or five years ago. It was pretty bad. Not as crowded as Excalibur, but I would probably take Excalibur over this one. The rooms smelled bad and the common hallways were not clean. You kind of know what you're getting for these prices. As long as you're cool with that, go for it. But honestly, I would rather stay at the Motel 6 next door

My Dad did last year, he said it was alright... I guess if it's really cheap. But I mean, make sure it really is the cheapest! Otherwise it's a waste. With a promotion you can usually get something like Excalibur for the same price.

I am staying there on May 28th for 4 nights that weekend was so high and we got hooters for 166.00 including the resort fee for all 4 nights and I reserved two rooms for that price. If you are leaving after me I can pm and let you know what I think.

I have stayed all over in Vegas however my friends traveling as on quite a budget so I am going to brave it plus we aren't in our room at all so I hope it's not as bad as everyone says.

Don't believe the hate. I've stayed there in a standard room -- it was fine. Way better than the IP, and really no different from Harrah's standard room.

It is what it is. Don't expect the Wynn and you'll be fine!

Get a high floor strip view room and you will have a nicer than average room with a great view all down the strip and the same time to strip as MGM. I stayed there most of last week other than a couple of nights in a Paris Calais suite thanks to the gf. Admittedly that was an amazing suite but going back to hooters after felt fine!

    This.

The room was not clean, it was the second most dirty room I've had in Vegas (Excalibur room was worse though I had a much better room my second Excalibur stay). Someone used the curtains as a napkin for wings or some sort of BBQ sauce, and I did not want to walk barefoot on the room carpets. The current ownership does not have much money to change things, but reconsider if they totally remodeled the rooms.

I'd have to think hard between Wild Wild West and Hooters. I only stayed to knock it off my Vegas checklist, staying on fly in night (late arrival) before completing my Vegas trip in MGM. I woke up early and checked out by 8AM, and was fortunate MGM was able to check me in after my walk across the street.

Viva- Wild Wild West really isn't that bad.

My future in laws are spending one night at Hooters next week while me and future bride have our "honeymoon" night at the Tropicana, we have to take our baby and they wanted to be close by while they watch him.

I attempted a stay there over Thanksgiving week/weekend last year and it was truly horrible. My husband didn't mind it but I couldn't stand it. We ended up checking out and going over to the MGM.

The bed sucked, I didn't get any hot water in the shower, bathroom was dark, shower leaked etc etc.

Spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere a bit nicer. :)

I stay there a few nights every year. They send me free room offers (with no resort fee!) once or twice a year just for being on their email list. I last stayed there on Fri/Sat night in October.

I usually travel solo so I my standards aren't very high. My room has always been clean, and the shower had hotel water and good pressure. I've never had to wait to check-in. Staff has always been friendly enough.

Some rooms have very small balconies that are accessible. Many of them are not, however. Rooms have beach/surfing themes.

The pool is open 24/7 which is rare in Vegas.

I stayed there about a year ago and had no problems. The room was big and clean and I had a nice view of the strip. I have paid more for worse rooms. The gaming was just ok but I don't mind dealers in training. I will stay there again if they give me a free room and no resort fee.

If i ever move from my apartment complex which has it's own 24 hour pool and Hot tub I will be heading to the hooters during the summer to chill out in theirs. They allow anyone in there. However that does lead to the problems of homeless people bathing in the pool. Just Sayin'.

I always get a kick out of people who comment like this on tripadvisor. People want to pay low rates when staying at a place like hooters, don't like it and complain and then move to a higher starred hotel like MGM, probably paying 2 to 4 times (or more) more. Most of the others here and on tripadvisor are probably wondering why a person even bothered to stay at a place like Hooters when they could afford to stay at the MGM but it probably was the husband that didn't mind Hooters but the wife had the final say. Not a knock on you zabigayle but you probably should have made the bookings (instead of your husband) based on reading reviews instead of leaving it up to your husband. Us guys are a little more flexible when it comes to saving money, husband probably didn't mind paying much less and stay at Hooters but should have made sure the wife knew about the hotel and research reviews before staying there IMHO.

Reading comments here and tripadvisor we all know that you get what you pay for, Hooters is known to be one of the lower priced hotel casinos in the strip area but most of the other rooms are much more expensive on the strip. Best to judge what your needs and wants are, if you want a nice room then pay a lot more and stay at a nice hotel, if you are on a budget and don't mind the "dumpiness" that a lower end hotel brings then stay there.

A lot of diverse opinions and reviews. I stayed a a number of years back and it was fine except the door had a busted lock. I stayed at the Excalibur in March expecting the worse and was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room and casino.

It's really not that bad. I've stayed there a couple times. Short walking distance to the strip and the rooms were clean enough for my standards. If all you care about is a decent bed you can crash on at the end of a long day it will work out fine. Way better than the old garden rooms at the Tropicana (probably gone post renovation), the classic rooms at the El Cortez, or the Wild Wild West (the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at).
