Okay, so I'm sure BeeeJay and Gaggles may try to talk me off the ledge, but it looks like my girlfriend and I are gonna be able to do a quickie trip Aug 1-3 and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pop the question. The thing is that I am fairly sure she would be expecting it so I'm looking for a non cliche way to do it.

The first time she came to Vegas with me she loved the Secret Garden at Mirage. Was thinking that I would pop the question there earlier in the day, before it gets too hot, then do a nice dinner and show that night. I am definitely open to ideas though. I plan for the dinner and show second night there, but I'm open to suggestions for some cool places the first night there that could be part of a random tour walking around the strip. Also not opposed to downtown either. I just don't want the usual Eiffel Tower Restaurant, fountains, etc. Thanks for any advice.

Do it at the MGM. Next to Lions Share slot machine, and ONLY after she gets the 3 lions to line up.... ;)

    No ideas, but congratulations!

I keep thinking maybe you should go somewhere more permanent, like Red Rock.

If you propose by some current landmark, it'll disappear in a year.

Then I thought, you could take her out to the desert and propose in the middle of nowhere.

If she says no, leave her there.
    :evillaugh

    Kidding.

Good luck, congratulations, don't forget to be a man and get down on one knee.

Thinking more in Las Vegas, not outside of, but the Grand Canyon did cross my mind. Could me a quiet alcove by the fountains or a quiet romatic place that is not overly used etc.

Book a Bellagio fountain view terrace room at Cosmo (even if only for one night) and set the stage out on the terrace. Wait for your favourite Bellagio fountain song. You can have the concierge make arrangements before you arrive, rose(s), champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, whatever you know your lady would enjoy.......but most important, some really nice bling for that finger!

    Congrats Macker!

What about up top of the Eifel tower, or perhaps on the new High Roller? Or maybe infront of the volcano at mirage, on the gondola ride at Venetian...just some places I wouldn't myself mind being popped the question! Good luck!!!

People are trying so hard to be "non-cliche"' that the the traditional way is probably the least cliche' way to go. Don't sweat it.

Do it while she's on the toilet. That's not cliche at all.

I'm not sure there's a "non-cliche" yet Vegas way to do it. Personally, I'm a low key person and would not like a lot of the ways people have suggested proposing on this board over the years. Yikes.

Over coffee at a nice breakfast (Bouchon?) then you could order champagne:thumbsup: Or lunch at a Bellagio restaurant patio overlooking the fountain? (late lunch - not sure what time they start the fountain show - though I guess it's earlier on the weekends)

How about renting a limo to the hotel. Propose in the limo on the way. Good way to start off an awesome trip!!

I like the limo idea. But, with a twist. The limo driver flips the sign that has your name on it and on the other side it says "(Insert name here), will you marry me?". Then drop to one knee right there in the airport and propose. I've been married for almost 30 years, but I personally would swoon...
