Thanks to this board, I've developed an interest in Ultimate Texas Hold Em. What kind of table minimums can I expect to find on the Strip? (Staying at Ballys.) I'm sure this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it on with the "search" button. $5 min (that's $15 for all three bets) would be the only type of game that would be playable with my bankroll.

Been practicing the strategy a bit (very similar to Dan Harringtons "end game" heads up strategy for live poker tourments as far as what holdings to open with...so I've got a head start there...) any other tips on this game would be appreciated of course.

Bally's has 2 $5 tables all the time. They also have 2 $5 tables of Mississippi Stud. Play some online, get a feel for strategy and try that game. I used to be devoted to UTH, now I'm only devoted to MS.

$5 tables are nearly everywhere. It's those who would like to play for less than a $5 ante that will have an issue.

Without trying hard you will find it for $5/$5/$5, mostly at any CET place. However, at Paris it was $10/$10/$10 and Cosmo it was $15/$15/$5. Seems a bit harsh to insist on $10 on the bonus at Paris. Basically every casino in Vegas (at least on the Strip) has one of these tables, a few have two.

If it matters and you're up there you can save yourself a few percentage points on the Bonus at Tropicana as they have the 3/5/6/8 table (1.9%) instead of the 'standard' 3/4/7/8 (3.5%). For a time Planet Hollywood had 3/4/7/9 (0.9%), but not any more.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Another question if you wouldn't mind...can you just place a $1 "Trips " bet at the nickle table, or does it have to be $5 as well? Thinking of trying to lengthen the bankroll by not using the "trips" bet, but $1 might be more acceptable to my level of play.

Every casino is different. At Bally's LV its $5 on the trips. At Bally's AC its $1. I think the plaza downtown allows $1 trips.
