Venetian

We have made the decision to stay at the Venetian, my first time staying there. We have a Vegas Virgin going and I know she's excited. Any thoughts on the place? As much as I hate it, we're going in August 10-15. I know have my head examined, but we have to deal with College dates. One of my travel companions works at Duke University and is a Grant Specialist so date is set.

 

I've never stayed at the Venetian, but I've always wanted to. It's beautiful but unfortunately out of my price range. Be sure to tell us how you liked it.

 

Venetian and Palazzo are beautiful places. You'll love it. Comfortable beds, good service, and you can order cocktails from your slot machine.

Good dining choices as well. Grimaldi's for NYC pizza. Bouchon for the best breakfast on the planet. Table 10 or Cut for dinner. See Human Nature - great show. It has become our home base of late. Any specific questions, ask away!

 

+1 on this... "beautiful places" is exactly the phrase I'd use! I'm particularly fond of that area of the strip as well. You'll have a GREAT time!

If the prices are the same go with the Palazzo. Both are nice but Palazzo is nicer.

 

Agree. We find that the Palazzo side is better, if for no other reason than it is closer to the restaurants we frequent and just a bridge away from Wynncore, our other favorite hangout. But the whole complex is very, very nice.

 

Do you not like Venetian or that it's August? Haha.

I liked it a lot there! I don't get to stay much, but when I do it's great. Beautiful, huge rooms. Just the whole property is beautiful, so much to do, and see and eat. You really don't need to leave.

The Venetian casino has more action.. but the Palazzo casino is much airer.. with the high ceilings. To me they are both really interchangeable properties. But I think I like a few more things on the Venetian side (the shopping and dining and shows that are closer to that side). My only word of warning is this place is HUGE. You could walk for days. I'd plan a lot of things to do in the property.

Bouchon!!! I'd stay there just for easy access to Bouchon.

The spa is great there too.

 

I wouldn't stay at the Maze, err Venetian again. Try the Palazzo. - here's my report from last year:

I stayed at the Venetian Venezia tower on a recent weekend after getting a Low Price Guarantee deal where I only had to pay for one night at a reduced rate.

To get from my suite to the casino required taking an elevator down (forgot the floor), walking through a series of hallways to get to an area where the tower bridge and Buchon is, past the Venezia pool area to another area where you then take another elevator down to the casino floor.

To get to the gym required crossing the tower bridge, follow signage to another elevator to the 4th floor (?), follow more signage, and more signage and halls to the spa reception area, then down a set of stairs to the gym. You are then given a piece of cheese and a pat on the head.

Getting to the Venetian pool, you have to cross the tower bridge, then it all gets fuzzy, but I think it goes - signage, hall, elevator, pool.

Anyways, not good if you have Achilles tendonitis from running on soft beach sand.

While I prefer the Palazzo it's easy enough to avoid the Venetian maze by saying you don't want a room in the Venezia towers and instead want to be in the rooms that you access by the elevators near the Grand Lux restaurant. I agree the Venezia towers is to be avoided unless people want the extra long hike.

 

I agree on what's been said. I stayed there last year on a freebie and it took us a solid 2 days to get our whereabouts together. Great hotel for restaurants...B&B, CUT, emerils. Rock of ages is a fantastic show...pool is very good. I'm a ceasars palace person, but I found the venetian every bit as good...should mention good sized rooms too
