    Hey gang,

Im 4-5 times a year vegas visitor. I always stay at NYNY and 90 percent of my gambling is between there and the MC. Anybody been there very recently who can give me an update on the construction? My last trip was in February and im heading back on May 23rd. Just wondering how the walking situation etc is going?
    Thanks!

The front of MC is almost completed. Didn't really pay too much attention to NYNY as I only walked by there once while staying at the MC.

MC has posted new pics on their facebook page.

It's not bad. There is more work at this stage in front of NYNY than MC, but it is all very accessible

We'll be staying at NYNY soon, I'll post pics in my trip report when I get back. I'm excited to see what they did to the place.

We stayed at NYNY for a night about a week ago before we moved downtown for the rest of our stay. Most of the NYNY related construction is to the north and west. You can still go in/out without any issue using the "main" upper level doors that lead to the MGM/Excal walkways. If wanting to go north, you can exit using the door by the food court area with minimal impact. Outside you will have some barricades, but it is still easily passable.

Entrance into MC is more impacted. We went from NYNY to MC (to get to Aria for buffet) and were unable to enter MC from the strip (southern door). We had to walk west to the doors by the front desk check-in to enter (no big deal since we had to be that far back to get to the Aria walkway anyways).

No issue getting from the strip to MC, I just had dinner at Yusho, the new restaurant right next to their front door, and it's wide open to the strip.

The barricades outside NYNY are still there, but as said, easily passable.

    Thanks

Good info guys. Seems they are making significant progress. Vegas is an amazing place in terms of construction. Some areas/projects seem to drag on forever, and then sometimes, ill go back 3 months later and they've made huge strides. Cant wait to get there on May 23rd. Like I said previously I spend a good 75 percent of my gambling time at NYNY and MC. Being from Detroit, ive been meaning to check out "The D" for about 5-6 trips and never made it (im not a huge fan of Freemont), but im gonna make sure and try to hit that up my 1st or 2nd day this trip to make sure I donate... (and get a t-shirt)...

From reports on Vegas Chatter, the staff in Hotel32, and photos from Monte Carlo's facebook, the 5 new restaurants at MC are all open as of May 1. All major construction has been finished and there is a little minor work left to do in front of the Monte Carlo. I will find out more when I check into H32 Wednesday, but the front of the MC is not blocked in any way according to the reports and photos I have received and seen.
