Friend is having his bachelor party soon. We wanted to have a nice larger-than-average room so everyone can fit and hang out prior to going out. We've settled on Venetian/Palazzo as their rooms are pretty good size with lots of room for everyone to sit. It looks like we're only going to have two rooms (hopefully adjoining) and have 4+ guys in each room.

My question is does it really matter having the extra 2-3 guys in each room if it is booked as a double occupancy? Two rooms times a couple nights each times the additional cost of maximum occupancy per room can save us a lot of money that can be put towards other things:beer:

My buddy is concerned about getting "caught"...Personally I've gone on plenty of trips where this hasn't been an issue and was just wondering if it is something the hotel can actually enforce as it is very common for people staying in different rooms or different hotels to have some sort of rally point. Obviously we're not planning on trashing the room so that won't be an issue in terms of "wear and tear".

Note: Not looking for input on hotels here...they've already decided on V/P. Personally I'd rather spend a bit more and get a few Cosmo Terrace Suites and be more centrally located but that's just me.

    Thanks

Yes, they can enorce it and charge you extra per person for over 2 in a room but that's only if they know about it. So book two beds and have two names on the registration but no more....which sucks if a guy gets lost and unable to find the room the front desk won't help if not on the registration. People do it all the time and don't mention the 3rd, 4th person

Done this several time's with the third or 4th man In, put 2 names on the reservation, 2 check in ask for extra keys, have your companions in the lobby watch your stuff, No need to mention them, if you ask for a cot you give it away, extra guys make a "nest" on the floor or if your lucky the couch may be big enough or you can push two chairs together, call housekeeping for extra pillows/towels for your back :rolleyes2: Tip them well, they will be the only one's who know, Dont trash the room, or be loud you will do fine

BTW people with the comps's get the beds:thumbsup:

Bring an air mattress to avoid having to ask for a cot. Works well and can be easily packed up and stored in the closet.

It's definitely gonna be cozy. As long as I have a bed I'm fine with whatever. Won't be my first time crammed in a room but I thought as a group we were past this stage:rolleyes2:

I figured we'd do the standard 2 ppl at check in (not with a big group peeking around the corner being really obvious) and ask housekeeping for extra towels. We've got a few people that can sleep anywhere (and have) so they'd be fine even curled up on the floor. As long as it's not me :p

I was just curious if anyone has any stories of being caught and how that went down

Just wanted to bump this thread with a similar question. I'm heading to Vegas at the end of the month with a group of 12-15. We're getting a 1500sqft suite, but obviously nearly everyone will be sleeping on the floor. Assuming we clean up our sleeping areas and aren't blatant about the number of people sleeping in the room, what are the chances of getting caught?

Leave a nice tip everyday for the housekeeper and you'll be fine. Also obviously try to keep it down so no one calls security on you guys.

Just a reminder that depending on where you're staying, they may check room keys at the elevator. They usually require a key per 2 people or whatever, so you'll need to get extras. Just go down to the front desk and aha you lost yours/need replacements to get extas

I used to do this back in the day. We would go 5 deep in a room. We just made sure we booked a room with 2 beds and one guy brought a twin air mattress. It worked for what it was. Terrace studio at Cosmo would have been perfect as they have some with 2 queens and if it has the couch like the king bed terrace studio one can certainly crash on that.

    12 - 15 people might be tough...

I have never been caught with 3 or 4 in a room...but asking for the extra keys always sketches me out.

    Asking for 12 keys...no chance

getting enough towels for 12 people...good luck

If you are only going for a day or two I would suggest you skip housekeeping...12 people bring alot of stuff and its pretty obvious.

When it comes to cramming a ton of people in a room its never a sleeping problem...its the bathroom issue. Even a 1500 bedroom suite will probably only have 1 (maybe 1.5) bathrooms

I'm pretty sure if all those people are Not a problem for You? It WILL be for your neighbors.
Noise. All hours of the night. Doors opening & closing repeatedly, and they Do! (usually slams)
Hotel Security will probably be called, unless Security notices first.
