    My Trip Report

So in less than 48 hours my girlfriend and I will be off for my annual (now hers too) trip to Vegas. The last two times I was in Vegas was to celebrate my birthday and now this time we are here to celebrate hers (2 weeks early because she's off next week). We are staying at the MGM Grand for the first time on a comped 3 nights. Flying Delta out of JFK on Sunday Morning and will be in the City of Sin for Easter Sunday :evillaugh. I've got 4 hours of work separating me from the weekend. I will be playing golf tomorrow to get a little work stress out and trying to sleep early to get ready for our early drive/flight. We have a good amount of MyVegas Comps and Groupons to use so I will write up mini reviews of how each was. This is a low-roller trip. I've got $1,500 for gambling, $1,500 for food/entertaiment. My girlfriend has $750 for everything. I will be trying to update regularly, but it will depend on how lucid I am.

    Not low roller to me

I would not describe your budget as a low roller one by any means...unless you play at tables that are $10/15 and up. $500 per day is plenty of money for $5 tables. Good luck and keep us updated!

    Ok trip update:

Got here at 11:30, got checked in right away with a room on the 23rd floor of MGM facing the strip. Took a walk to Cosmo and used my $25 free play I got from Carve (Thanks again) and won $14.00 on Diamond Jubilee. After that headed to Bellagio and played some .25 wof. Won $30 on $40. Proceeded to go back to even after playing pink diamonds. Then headed to Petrossian to get a couple martinis before high tea. High Tea is excellent by the way and a really good way to spend Easter. After that, took a walk to Monte Carlo where I lost about $80 in $1 wof. Then to NYNY where I lost $100 on Bean to Be Wild. 0 bonuses from each . After getting a drink from NYNY girlfriend and I headed to MGM to play the Lion's Share. Waited 2 minutes for a woman to get a handpay and then was on. Was up $50 on my $130 buyin for a while, going up and down. Turned South after 45 minutes. Racked up a good amount of TC's and now back in the room. Was supposed to get Champagne and chocolates for my gf's birthday but still haven't shown up yet? Maybe will show up later? Strip is pretty packed, I am surprised as I wouldn't think a lot of people would be here on Easter. Still having a blast and soaking it in. Gonna stop gambling for tonight. Gonna let gf play slots. I hate them and now that I've done Lion's Share I'm sticking to craps and poker. Going to Tender to dinner tonight, using a $75 MyVegas comp. Will keep you updated!

Good start! Holidays don't keep people away from Vegas. My first ever day in Vegas was thanksgiving 2001. It was pretty busy then too!

    Good morning all!

Had a great dinner at Tender. Had the soup tasting trio, awesome, and the wild game tasting which was excellent. Have bad jetlag so tried to sleep early last night to no avail. Got 2 hours tops. Champagne showed up while we were out last night. Just had some starbucks and now going to the monte carlo to play in the 9 am tournament.

Glad you turned that free play coupon into something!

The wild game tasting sounds very interesting – if you get a chance, please elaborate on that one.

Keep the updates coming and best of luck.

Thanks for the report on Tender.

I was just looking at their menu yesterday and the OH fancied the game tasting so good to hear you enjoyed it. It is antelope osso buco, venison medallion and wild boar loin. We have had those previously, but not all together.

When I saw that "wild game dinner" I went "ugh". Laughed & felt a lot better when you posted the menu.

I have been to wild game dinners here in very rural Texas which included rattlesnake, squirrel, rabbit, venison, etc. At the risk of sounding snobbish, there was nothing palatable.

    Glad yours was better! Haha!

I'm glad to hear of no line at the Lion's Share, we are staying there one night - I hope to get on it at some point. Hope the gambling gods are smiling upon you both!

I will post a more elaborate trip report to fill in the obvious blanks in my updates. Yesterday I cashed on the bubble for the MC tournament. There were 12 players and 2 rebuys. Payed for places but we had mutually agreed upon (when I was chipleader) to pay the bubble their buy in back. MC has a really nice poker room and it's a shame that the room is kind of dead. I enjoyed it and had a good group of players. It was a mix of tourist and regulars. Went to the Champagne Brunch at MGM with MyVegas reward and everything was delicious and I highly recommend it. Drank a ton of champagne and right as we are leaving our server hands us two coffee cups filled with champagne to go. She got a huge tip.

Went over to the trop to take part in their lose $200 on us deal. I ended up winning $40 so I just cashed out. Girlfriend lost $40 and then took them up on the $20 back and turned it into $17.50. Trop is really nice, I think they just remodeled? If I got an offer to stay there I would, it was very clean.

Walked to Mandalay to go to Lush. Girlfriend dropped $60 on some bath stuff. Walked around MB and got my MyVegas voucher for the foundation room. H

Headed back to the room and had to stop in NYNY. I played $5 blackjack and girlfriend played slots. Went up and down with my $90 buy in for an hour. Cashed out down $40. So much bad play. I hate when people split 10's no matter what... Dealer is showing a 6, split tens, showing a 10, split tens. I don't say anything because I should expect it at a $5 table but it is just a tad annoying. Maybe one day I'll stop being a baby and move up to a $25 table.

    Still haven't played craps...

Got back to the room and prepared some malibu bay breezes for the girlfriend and I. Got pretty drunk, decided to take a nap.... Never woke up to go see Zumanity which we had comped through MyVegas.... Oh well at least it was free :faint:.

Got a really good nights sleep after barely sleeping the night before. We are headed down to delights to use a MyVegas voucher and then go down to the Bellagio to run my dad's money with his card through $5 WOF. I get to keep any profit so should be a fun time! Gonna try to get on the casino royal craps table. Having lunch at Fat Burger with a groupon. Then gonna go to TI to check it out as I've never been. Gonna go to Brand for dinner with the MC $50 MyVegas Voucher, then Foundation Room. Should post either tonight or tomorrow morning. Checking out at 10am tomorrow but flight doesn't leave till 10pm so will have plenty of time to play!
