    My Trip Report

Hey everyone! Sitting at a bar counting down the hours till me and the buddies head out to Vegas. We're checking in tomorrow but leaving tonight and powering through till we can get a room (Yeah...we're degenerates like that).

We're from California and will probably be heading out around midnight. Shooting for a 3:30-4:00 arrival.

There's a total of 5 of us going. Myself, my best friend Paul, his brother, his brother's girlfriend, and another good friend, Jason.

This is kind of a last trip together for quite some time. P is having a baby next month, J is getting married, so they'll both be on lockdown after. Sucks since I'll be back in May for my birthday, solo, it looks like. Ah well.

We have 2 comped terrace studios at the Cosmo. With a comped room at the mirage tonight for the couple since they won't be able to make it until we check in.

Either way, I know these "live" trip reports tend to fall apart but I promise to do my best and at the very least, give a detailed report at the end.

    Cheers!

Anyone know why tapatalk won't let me post pictures? It shows as them being added but after I click reply, nothing gets posted. Sorry, new to using this app.

State line is within sight! Got held up for about half an hour due to construction but we're still making good time. Soooo close!

The only time I have ever had issues posting pics via tapatalk is when I have a weak data signal.

Duly noted, thanks Jerry. I'll keep trying. I'll prob host to photobucket if I have to.

That being said! We have arrived! Checking the couple in to The mirage so they can knock out, while P and I hit the strip!

My apologies ladies and gents. It's been a long day. Finally turning in for the nigh...errrr...morning. Been up for nearly 48 hours. I'll
Give a quick run down and hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures on this app (tapatalk).

    Rundown so far:

So we checked in the couple at the Mirage early yesterday AM. P was able to secure a late check out and a suite for free along with the comped room. I guess the check in lady felt bad for us since we were only going to stay there a few hours, granted she didn't know we were staying at the Cosmo.

So we dropped off the couple in the room and proceeded to gamble. P loves his slots and I dabbled here and there since I wanted to preserve my bankroll. After all, we were there for a few days and there's been too many times I've had to sit on my hands the last day since I was tapped out.

Unfortunately, the drinks were fast, and my self control non-existent. P went up a few hours later to catch a few z's before we had to check out. I was blitzed and decided the best course of action was to keep gambling. I'd been up for nearly 24 hours but the fact that I'm used to it (being an EMT) coupled with the fact that I've been going through a rough patch ( a break up) meant that exhaustion, much less sleep, would be non-existent.

I stayed on the floor of the Mirage playing everything that I could. Mostly table games ( craps, BJ, etc) and I was fine until I started to loose. You other Degens can relate, I'm sure. I quickly lost everything I brought with me and headed for the ATM. I then decided high limit Bac at the Mirage would be a good idea. At least most of the midi games were 25 minimum, but I never wanted to give them that sort of play when that's not my home base.

So Bac came and went. As did Pai gow, craps, and various slots. Just couldn't catch a break. I was in a bad mood, thinking about the EX, and on a mission to get my money back.

J finally drove in and P and the couple came downstairs to find me. I was utterly dejected and depressed. I needed this trip to be a good one and within a few hours of arriving, it had gone to compete utter shit ( pardon me). They checked out around 11 and we drove to Cosmo to see if we could check in early.

Being a weekday, it wasn't too busy and I was able to secure a wrap around suite with the 20 dollar trick. That was the only redeeming factor that morning as we moved in and I went back downstairs....and proceeded to loose even more money. Thank god for daily withdrawal limits. I'm never this bad, but I've just been I a rut lately with the ex so I'll chalk it up to that.

We were finally able to break away from the casino for dinner at Raku off the strip. To those of you who don't know this place, all I can say is that it is simply amazing. It's a Japanese tapas style, and the food is to die for.

Yes Rhodes are tiny crabs and they were delicious. They were about the size of your thumb and you just ate them whole.

I'll add more details and pictures later.

Anywho, we returned back to the Cosmo around 9 and went back to gambling. Once again, craps, Pai Gow and slots killed me. It
Was after midnight and I was able to used to ATM again and pulled out 2 hundred dollars and sat at a 25 dollar 2 deck BJ game.

I love the dealers here. They're always friendly to us and it sucks to says, but I've never been so entertained and happy while losing money lol. I had this particular dealer named Joy (go figure) who was absolutely fantastic. I bought in with 2 hundred and flat betted the night away to a profit of 700. All while constantly having her on the line and buying drinks. It was great streak and I should have made a killing but I was gun shy after being down 2k. Either way, I was happy and having a great time (Naturally, since I was winning). I decided to call it a night, but I'll be back downstairs in a few hours to see if I can finish off the rest of her shift with her. hopefully I'll be able to make more back.

I forgot, we had lunch at Chino Poblano. A staple for us whenever we are in Vegas. And of course, pictures to follow, taptalk willing.

Any who. I came up stairs to a beautiful sunrise

Going to lay down for a few since I've been up for nearly 48 hours. P and J are a snoring loudly in the living room, a testament to how tiring the day has been. We're tired and beaten but have a day and half left here in Sin City. Believe me, we intend to make the best of it.

Sut eye for an hour or two then back at it. I'll try and be more diligent about updating, but you guys know how it is.

    Cheers!

Those little crabs are creepy...I couldn't imagine eating those but glad you enjoyed them!

I would stay away from Mirage slots - we normally stay there and I've never done very good. I've never really seen others winning either.

Looking forward to more pictures! You're doing great so far, live TRs aren't easy!

    Thanks!

A few hours rest and I'm good to go! A quick shower and I'm feeling great. Heading downstairs with P and J. Wish me luck!
