So I am bringing two of my friends to Vegas with me in May and promised them tickets to the Britney show. As reported on this Board weeks ago, two seats together is no longer available during the two shows the first weekend in May through the main website for tickets.

I have glanced at some of the scalping sites where the prices are double the face value (StubHub, etc.) and I also checked with my MGM host to see if they had any Britney tickets through an exchange with CET (they don't). So what's everyone's advice on the best way to get two tickets for the show on May 9 or May 10? Thanks!

did you look at tm platnium packages and other packages, if they have them you can buy them if you want too or wait to see if they dont sell they will kick them back down to the original price.its the old game of munipulating the tickets

ive noticed instead of the basicaly kicking back theve just coomped them out so it looks like the shows are sold out.

most of here seats for the weekend are going to comps as its there new show so there pushing there clients to it to get them into the casino.everyone seen elton, shani, and so on.

can you gp on a weekday ive notice tickets on weekdays going below face or not selling if that helps.

    hope that helps some

ps stubhib is like the stock market it goes up and down so keep watching and if you can figure out wich brooker owns the actualy seats you will save around 25%

Thanks. I don't have a decent host at that property, so comps are out. I suspected some of what you are saying is going on. But if it is, where and when will the tickets being held back become available?

as i said they havent been, becuase there trying to make it look like shes a total sellout so there comping them instead of kicking them back.

if they kick them back its usualy the week off up to 30 minutes prior to show time

weeks days are alot easier to get.

im sure there not putting many tickets onsale to beging with. its only a 4500 seater so theres probaly a 2000 hold for the weekend shows per nite.not uncommmon

ITS NOT SOLDOUT , I JUST LOOKED THERE ARE TICKETS ON TICKET MASTERS THERE A WHOLE ROW AND 6 SEATS TOGETHER FOR THE 9TH OF MAY GO BUY THEM.PROBLEM SOLVED

Thanks. I got your private message saying the same. Saw those tickets last night. They retail for $2500 a ticket. I love my friends, but I am not about to drop $5k for them to see that show (or any show)

The $500 tickets are for the VIP tables and you have to buy six seats. I did see there are two seats together on the 10th way over on the edge of the seating for $800 a piece, but that's still a bit more than I want to spend.

Looks like the secondary market is the way to go. anyone have any experience with which secondary suppliers are reliable?

Stubhub is probably your best option, and the safest option for resale tickets, as the show gets closer, prices should come down a bit... or just keep checking back it's possible more tickets will appear on ticketmaster.

Looks to me like Friday is gonna be the slightly cheaper bet. The Stubhub ones don't look terrible. You can get 2 in section 209 row A for $249 each.. face value on those is probably close to $200.

Basically you have to fork over the cash, that's all you can do. There is no miracle tickets here, sold out is sold out.

In looking at Ticketmaster a couple of thoughts:

They still have general admission tickets for the Saturday show at $630 each. You would have to be standing up for the duration, but its not too bad and you would be pretty much right up there.

Also for the Saturday show: they do have the VIP tables where you have to buy all 6 tickets for $525 each (total = $3150).
That is a fair amount of money but it sounds like you were pretty much thinking of spending about a $1000 for tickets for you and your friends anyhow, so maybe they'll be willing to kick in the other two thirds and go.

Having your own table also brings up some possibilities:
First, since you would have 6 tickets but only need 3 you could try to sell the other 3 tickets. If you can do that and get $750-800 each for them then that'll really take a huge bite out of the cost of the tickets.
Or another alternative: if you are three guys coming over if you are coming with the intention of meeting some ladies and such then inviting them to sit at a VIP table with you for a Britney Spears show would probably be a good way to make an impression.

As for another idea: if you have a host at MGM then it sounds like you'll be doing some gambling and have a few dollars to spend? You could try calling up Planet Hollywood and ask for a host there and ask them if you got a nice suite for the night and did so much gambling in the casino if they would be able to get you three tickets to show.

We've used StubHub several times with good results.

Amazing all the negative comments and thoughts before the show opened and when the show started (Lip sync!). After reading this thread, I checked several Fridays in the future only to have some difficulty through September.

I am a little (lot) older than Britney fans. I went Feb 7th open minded and felt it was a good production. Hell I didn't even know any of her songs but the tickets were free and we had a great time.

Now the same section is difficult to get. I guess that is an attestment to the show but I got to be a little pleased with our decision to go when news was bad, like a good stock investment I guess.
