Just read this on the LVA:

The past year or so has seen some changes introduced to the classic Las Vegas hotel-buffet scene, from the discontinuation of breakfast at several venues (LVH, Rio, and M), to the introduction of unlimited caviar (Bellagio), to the ability to make reservations (Paris). The latest innovation we just learned about from a reader, with confirmation that Cravings buffet at the Mirage (for which we have an ongoing twofer deal in the 2014 MRB) now offers a take-out option. For $16 (any meal), the buffet will give you a to-go box, which you may cram with as many goodies as you can fit into it (apparently a challenge that many patrons are rising to, according to our source). Interesting.

Just curious how much you think you could stuff in a single to-go container? If allowed, Id prolly use both sides and leave it open-face. Thats a pretty awesome site to see...some moron carrying around a t-go container with food spilling over the side in the middle of the casino walking diligently to their room in time to eat it all before it goes cold.

it wouldnt be worth it to me. When I go to buffets I eat maybe 2 plates and grab dessert...im just not a huge eater. If the to go box is huge then maybe I could grab enough for two lol

Any idea how big the container is? We are driving to the Grand Canyon during our trip an it might be a convenient way to bring some muffins & such.

Unfortunately the article does not say. I can only speculate its the standard to-go container that is square shaped that you might get something like a burger and fries in.

Load it up with shrimp and crab legs and let it sit on your nightstand overnight!

    Gross! :vomit:

I wouldn't want all my food touching to save what, like 10 dollars? Even less savings with the LVA coupon. It wouldn't take that much more time to just sit down and eat a little, then leave. Plus, there is free beer and wine at Mirage buffet.

I just ate there on Monday night and saw people doing this. It looked to be one of those clamshell styrofoam containers that has one large section for an entree and two smaller sections for sides. I'd say it's probably 9 inches square (?).

It's just a convenience thing. We are staying there so that would be an easy place to stop on the way out that morning.

    Thanks :D

The thing is, more than one could easily eat from that.
