    My Trip Report

Just some quick highlights and pictures from from eyes of the March Madness XI board meet.

I love a first class flight to Vegas...

    Not so much the food...

Wednesday Night, four of us made an impromtu hit up of Maggianos. They were on their A game this night. We did family style and probably had the best meal I've ever had with them, which led to a comment after we left and one of our group looked like he had one too many stuffed mushrooms "Oh don't worry, he's too cheap to throw up." :wink2:

I used a MyVegas comp at Mirage for Wednesday night... They screwed up the check in and ended up charging me full price plus resort fees upon check out. A quick trip to the front desk and they removed all charges from the bill, even a $4 coke from the minibar.

Thursday was the suite party at Cosmo. Beach Crazy wasn't excited about the low floor on the South side of the building they gave her, but it was still a good time.

I don't have any pictures of them, but it was great to meet some "newbies." Saltwater Cowboy and his Canadian buddies, Sceej, VolFanInBama, and Mikenhe's buddies were all fun to meet. Where were the rest of you all???? :poke:

Our non-board member friend Chele put out a great spread...

The party broke up, a couple of people took some nasty tumbles, but that's about par for the course. No one went to the hospital and we hit up PHo for some gambling.

We get back to the Mirage and find yoga playing on the TV. Not exactly what you expect to see when you walk into the room at 5AM, but, in the drunken stupor and lack of sleep, that was some funny shit right there...

FRiday was pool day at the Flaming-O courtesy of IllMarty and sanonofresurfer. We made some new friends from the North as there was a Beaver Convention, er bachelorette party of Canadian's there. Unfortunately, the British also invaded with, what seems to be ALL the rage in Europe, their speedo banana hammocks. I swear there were a couple of them that looked like they were just running around in their tighty whities.

On the way back to the Mirage, I happened to bear witness to one of our group molesting Hello Kitty. Yes, I have the picture, NO, I will not share... some things just can't be un-seen. :confused2:

We may have overindudged at the pool a bit, but there was not stopping us this day as several of us had plans to see Bill Cosby at TI that night. I was excited to get to see him and, though it's not exactly what I would have expected, he put on a good show and was well worth the money to go see him. Scratch one more thing off my bucket list

Afterwards, Beach Crazy had used some MyVegas points for table service at Gold at Aria. I rolled in close to midnight and was escorted right to the table where everyone else had already been partying it up for a few hours. Oops! Needless to say, I had some catching up to do.

The bottles of booze seemed to dry up pretty quick, as I finished off what was left of a bottle of Grey Goose another table gave to use when they left. It also seemed Gold started letting everyone and anyone into the place and it got packed quick. We finished off the booze and headed off. We stopped in for an end of the night drink at Deuce and promptly swore off ever going there again (which you can red about here.)

    Saturday...
    Poker Tournament Day!

Sanonofresurfer got with the Flaming-O poker room and was able to get us our very own tournament setup. This is the past traditions when, the good Colonel, Dougie would set one up for us whereever we could get the best deal. The folks at the Flaming-O took good care of us and even gave us a lot of leeway on the F Bombs, picture taking, and general roudiness. I know someone has the order everyone was put out, but in the end...

I grinded my way to a third place finish, though I was aiming for bubble boy near the end. Especially after the poker room mamanger came over and said that the bubble person would get a free Flaming-O t-shirt (which ended up going to ATCMurph.)

Our new friend, and Mikenhe's friend Pete pulled out second, with our very own, former WSOP participant StickyFingers FINALLY pulling out a first place finish.

After poker, we hit up the food court there at the Flaming-O and had some Johnny Rockets. Just like I remember from Atlantic City, but WAYYYYYYY overpriced.

We all split up mainly because an 11AM poker tournament takes a lot out of you when you've been going as hard as this group had been going the days before. We agreed (oops) to meet up at O'sheas later to start our St Patrick's Day festivities early as some folks were going home that day.

I ended up at the Piano Bar at Harrahs with Chele and texas_aggie_girl_93 where we tried to convince Chele to perform karaoke with no luck. As it got closer to time to meet up, we thought it best to grab some food. We tried Toby Keith's, but the wait time there was almost an hour.

    20140315_200732.jpg

We ended up grabbing a pizza at the place beside Harrahs... it was edible, but... :nono:

Needless to say, we didn't meet up with everyone at O'sheas. After a lot of "Where are you fooker!" we met up with everyone at the Quad and took over a section of their bar.

The nighted ended short for me as several days of way too much fun started to catch up and I called it a night after making a run to Mickey D's for a happy meal and a load of food off their dollar menu.

Sunday morning arrives and I decided to give the Mirage some play finally. I take a seat at the sports bar and proceed to play on a hundy for about an hour. After several hours without food, then another hour of some excellent comped Ketel One and Cranberries, I am trashed. Van find me and I know I'm slurring, but I'm at least enjoyingmyself

We head back to the room to get reeady for the evening as we're heading downtown...

So we get gussied up in out pre-St. Patrick's Day green and catch a cab with Snert and Sticky to Main Street Station. We meet up for dinner with, well, just about everyone, at Triple 7 Pub. I don't remember much about the food, but the company sure hit the spot.

We piled out of there and headed down to Fremont Street. After the first round of drinks, and the hundreds, if not thousands of people downtown, things got a bit blurry. Thank goodness for flash photography.

We ended up at the Plaza where our group took over a $5 blackjack table. Even Pete snuck away from Mikenhe long enough to join us! I don't think anyone did very well at that table, but we had a good time.

After a long night of drinking and gambling, we had to say our goodbyes to some folks and piled into the cabs for the Mirage.

This is where things start getting really fuzzy...

    St Patrick's Day! :beer::drunk::faint:

I think the Vegas monster got most of the folks as this day ended up just Van, Chele and myself out to find a good time. We put our green on and set out for a day of drinking. After lunch at Senor Frog, we walked (who's idea was this?!?!) up to NYNY expecting to see KenO and his lovely wife at Nine Fine Irishmen. About the time we get there, we get a text that they are downtown. :faint:

Chele had some friends in town for a wedding, who had sat up camp at Excalibur. So off we went to Excalibur where we saddled up to the bar to play some video blakckack, drink, and be some body. First drink, I find out the Excalibur, unlike the Mirage, won't comp Ketel One at the bar so it was Sky and a headache for me. We meet up with Marcus and Rachel who are just a bundle of energy and a lot of fun. Marcus is a singer and we had heard all about his one drunken night and the threats of a woodchipper... I'll leave it at that, but if you ever are in Arizona and run across Marcus, just ask :evillaugh Lord knows how long we sat there, but I know we got loud and finally decided to move the party to Carnaval Court.

Again, we decided to walk down the strip, this time headed for Harrahs. After a pit stop to fill a flask and I think I made the comment that my buzz had worn off. That was a mistake... I ended up taking a few hits of straight captain out of the flask and I was right as rain.

Finally, we're into Carnaval Court and things get really fuzzy here. We danced, pictures got posted of someone who split their pants, complete pandelirium! (I actually think I'm not allowed to dance with Rachel anymore :Þ )

I think I ended up doing the Irish in my family proud as I lost about 2 hours of the night. We ended up closing down Carnaval Court and heading back to the Mirage, but one minute I'm at Carnaval Court, the next, I'm back in the room.

Needless to say, the next morning wasn't a pleasant one. My happy ass didn't drink enough water before bed to compensate for the massive hangover I was about to encounter. not exactly the best thing you want to happen right before you have to pack to go home... Aanyway, I "think" I apoligized to Van and Chele for the previous night, if not, I'll point them to this thread in the future. After a healthy does of Advil, water, a long hot shower, it was time to say goodbye...

This is something I like to do with this group. We post some things to Facebook so we all get a laugh at them at the time, but I love the one liners and always try to jot them down for later posterity.

    Enjoy.

"If you turn that yoga on one more time this morning..."

"There's nothing like deep throating a pickle."

"After seeing him, I'm glad I stopped wearing tightey whiteys"

"Grits don't burn in the kitchen, beans don't burn on the grill"

    "Chivalry isn't really appreciated."
"Only guys with little dicks say that."

"I love Larry more than giving head."

"You are the most best bathroom girl ever."

"Tell your friend to stop spitting in my ear."

"I didn't know there be was a Y in the word extra"

"Where are we going to find any wienerschnitzel at this time of night?"

    "Uh."

    "Boomshakalaka"

    "Suck suck give"
    "Give, give it over"

"Can you fix my bent antler?"

"It's like this and this and... this."

    "I loved these jeans!"
"Oh you can still wear them."

"Could you just once deal the cards the other way? I'm tired of having to count."

"Uh oh she's back, everybody cover your cards"

"I lost that hand, it's okay you can go ahead and take my chips"

A fun report; would love to hear the stories behind some of the one-liners! Apologies shouldn't be required.....my friends and I operate on the "don't remember, don't count" rule.

The one-liners are some of the best parts of the trips. You must join us some time.

I still think my favorite time with these guys was one particular night of revelry where someone had a minor derailment and we needed the limo to take us back to the hotel so someone could eat a sammich and then on with the rest of our night.

Limo guys says, "I can't let [that person] in my car, if they puke, my night is over." All of the sudden every single person in our group says in unison, "We have bags!" while waving Walgreens shopping bags in the air. Our group hostess leans in to the driver and says "We'll pay." Once I stopped laughing, I told the driver "This isn't our first rodeo. We got this."

The ride back to the hotel was painful I was laughing so hard. We regrouped and the limo started to leave without one of us. I was hanging out the window to my waist screaming, "Run, Kikky! Run!" but she didn't make it. :(

The rest of that night is a blur, but 5 hours later I was in the elevator at my hotel, covered in stripper glitter, pants sticking to my legs from the rot-gut liquor spilled on them, wearing a feather boa with beads and carrying a solo cup in my hand, complaining that I lost my penis somewhere. The guy with me in the elevator apologized, but I explained I used to have 3 penises and I think I have one in my purse, but the green one was my favorite and it was out there on The Strip somewhere, all alone. :drunk:

Seriously though, this is one of the greatest groups of people. I wish I had been to every single meet-up. Missed way too many. I have never seen anyone join this group who wasn't immediately a life-long friend. Whether you're from the board and join us for a round at the bar, or if you just gravitate and tag along with the buffoonery in town, you're a friend forever.

    This group is the BEST!
