My son and his 30 ish friends were all in the other room whooping & hollering about "the fire bet" this and "the fire bet" that. They were celebrating the thousands won on " the fire bet"
Anyone out there know what they're talking about? And secondly, can this be possible cuz they all are a bunch of low rollers?

It's a long shot craps bet and can be made for a dollar.

Basically, you're betting that someone will make every number.

Long roll and a long shot.

    to elaborate:

A firebet is a bet in craps. You place the bet when a new shooter starts his roll. The shooter will set a pint and hopefully make the point. The dealer will mark that the particular point is made (4,5,6,8,9 or 10). The shooter will then set the next point. The process continues and each distinct number that is made is marked. If the shooter sets and makes the same point multiple times, it will only count as one number made for the fire bet. The bet is paid out - or lost - when the shooter sevens out. If the shooter made 4, 5, or 6 different numbers, the bet wins. All six set and made pays, usually, 1000 to

I won the fire bet at Margaritaville last year (had $1 for me and $1 for the dealers).....1000-1 odds!

    That was a great afternoon!

Definitely a long shot but for a $1 it can add a lot of excitement.

It's a sucker bet similar to the "All Tall", "All Small" or "Make Em All" but I will make them for $1 each when myself or the GF is shooting. If you can't believe in yourself, who can you believe in!?

I never miss betting on it at a craps table. Usually $2 when I am not the shooter; when I am, it is $5 for me and $1 for the dealers. I would never want to be at a table where it hits and not be on it. I know it has a high house advantage, but think of how many $1 chips you throw away on yo's or hardway bets.

I have hit the 6 number payout once when I was the shooter and once when I was not the shooter. I have also rolled a 5 pointer this past January. And have been a part of numerous other 4 pointers and 5 pointers. I saw one shooter - shooting from the don'ts - make a 5 pointer. We were thrilled; him not so much.

There is nothing as exciting in a casino as a hot craps table....and the fire bet is like pouring gasoline on a hot table...it makes it explosive!

Just a thought - imagine a fire bet at a crapsless craps table. The payout for 10 would have to be enormous! (To my knowledge, such a bet does not exist)

I only played at 1 table that had all tall, small and all. I played 1 buck on small and tall for a few shooters. the 3rd shooter got that all. Pretty good times.

What's great about the fire bet is that while you're shooting for the $25, $125, $1000, you're still winning on almost every throw because the shooter is hot.

I think over the past few years that I've seen and played the fire bet, I have to still be up a few hundred bucks from it.

Sure, it's a sucker bet. But it can be the most exciting dollar bet you ever make.

    Fire bet on "crapless craps?"

For the casino, what would be the point? They're making the same profits from the players already.

Your play is quite typical - a buck or two every shooter and maybe a nickel when he or she actually shoots the dice. (No big money. It's fun. And every once in a while you hit it big.)

The house edge on the fire bet is 20.7%. That's $20.70 for every $100.00 the player puts in action on the fire bet.

I would imagine a 10 number fire bet paytable would have roughly the same advantage for the casino.

Now, the crapless craps game has a 2.93% edge against that player who bets the pass line and take odds. (Pass line without odds is a whopping 5.38%!)

Granted, it's 10% of the edge for the fire bet, but the typical player will have a minimum of $10.00 ($5.00 min line bet and $5.00 single odds) on every roll of the dice. (You're not taking odds? That's fifty-four cents on every $10.00 you bet on the pass line. You'd might as well take out a dollar bill and light somebody's cigarette with it on every other shooter!)

So, on any single roll, betting the minimum:

    $!.00 fire bet: Casino take = $ .27 ($1.00 X .27)

    $5.00 Line bet + $5.00 odds: Casino take = $ .29 ($10.00 X .029)

So, for the house, their profit on crapless craps is already the same as the fire bet. And dig this! It's on every shooter and every roll of the dice!

Be careful what you wish for.

Like others have said, the fire bet has an enormous house advantage. I'll play it but try to only do so when I'm rolling the dice. I think that if you place it on every shooter, it'll eat into your bankroll pretty good. I remember playing at a table at the Cannery years ago and one guy was throwing $5 on the fire for every shooter!

The All Small, Tall, or Nothing still has a significant house edge but much less so than the fire. Looking forward to playing that bet when I go back to the desert in May.

Interesting observation on the All, Tall, or Nothing bet.

I've seen people win this on a number of occasions.

I bet it for the first time this past January. I was shooting at the Excal and the player to my right bet the "feature bet" for $5.00, with $3.00 on the all and a buck on the small and tall. Sure enough, he this every number and took down a big score.

I decided to bet it myself when I shot next. I'd made the fire bet on occasions in the past and wasn't all that familiar with the ins and outs of the feature bet.

Well, I also shot every number, but I made a few come-out naturals during my soot. Imagine my shock when, after hitting the final number, that my three bets had long ago fallen the first time I shot a seven for a natural winner!

So, if the All, Tall, or Nothing bets have a lower house edge, the player will have to make them more frequently than a fire bet, which stays up through every pass line winner until the shooter sevens out.

I like the fire bet. How did the dealers react to the $1K tip?:faint:

Watched this happen at Harrahs last month when I was there. Shooter and 3-4 of his friends had $5 firebets and one gent had a $10 bet and he made the throw for the 1000-1 payout...the place went wild....except for the 3 casino pit bosses and the casino manager standing at the table watching the big losses rack up :)

All in all it was pretty exciting even for someone like me who has no clue when it comes to craps.

I rolled a 5-pointer with a $5 bet at Ceasars two weeks ago...the most fun I had all trip and the most "love" from a table I've ever felt. I was rolling for the 6th point (10) when the seven showed! I will play it....you never know!

My friend bet on this, but it wasn't called a fire bet. He told me they called it at CP, not Aria. Odds were a bit different.

    2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12.

He almost hit it a few times when we were at Aria. Betting $100 on 176:1 odds, it pays out.

I love the fire bet. I have been fortunate enough to hit 4 numbers 3 times, 5 numbers twice, and all 6 once. When I hit all 6 it was my buddy rolling and he went for an hour and 15 minutes. It was epic.

I've played the Small, Tall, All bet and this can be fun, but I don't like that on a winner 7 you lose the bet and have to reload.

Regardless, these are terrible bets but I enjoy them a lot. Plus given how many I have hit I will always play them now.
