I just got back from a trip to vegas. I am an mlife platinum thanks to a status match from Hyatt Diamond. I was playing slots, averaging $5 a spin, ~8 hours a day. My trip was for 4 days. On the third day a Bellagio Executive slot host came over and introduced himself to me while I was playing. He said to call him when I want to come back in the future. I also got all four resort room nights comped, and $100 of food. What kind of offer could I expect to get in the future. I was surprised when the host came over, as I thought I was just small fish. Is this normal? Thanks!
Yes its pretty normal because $5 a spin for 8 hours per day is not that small of a fish. Its pretty sizable compared to the average slot player and slot play in general is heavily valued by casinos. Truth be told your theo was probably over a couple grand per day if you played at typical speeds so I'd say you were shortchanged getting only $100 of food comped along with the resort room. That should have covered more. Do you know what your total coin-in was?
Total coin-in was probably ~100k. If I was under-comped this trip, should I expect something good upfront when I go back? Im still new to all this. Thanks!
Yeah that's what I was estimating. So your total theoretical loss would be somewhere around 10k over 4 days. Total comps should be 30-40% of that so 3-4k yet a resort room for 4 nights and $100 food is barely worth 1k. Also did the host just use your Express Credits to comp anything? If he didn't touch your ECs that's a little better. You won't get more next time just because you got less this time, comps aren't really cumulative. But you should be able to get more than just a basic room and a little bit of food for a 10k theo. The offers you get should reflect that but you can also ask the host for more upfront when you're planning your next trip.
I would for sure check your tier points and express comps. Probably too late to see if the host took some of your Express Comps balance or not. Only way to know is to check the balance when you are done playing, but before they touch them. You may well start seeing some offers for room and food. Possibly a suite. Tell us how many tier points you earned on that SINGLE trip - only one, right?
My express comps balance says $35.73, and 67,682 tier points from this one trip. I was mostly playing progressive slots, so I think these are only 10pts/1$, correct?
other way around on specialty slots 10$/1 point. With about 70k in tier credits you made about 7k points (not counting multiplier as that only affects point play and express comps), so about 70k coin in. As you are platinum you have a 1.3 multiplier on express comps so they must have taken 50-60$ out of that, did you get some charges taken care of from the mlife desk before you met the host? If you only had 100$ charged to room its fine, if they left you with a bill to pay at check out.. you got stiffed, got about 1k, should been worth about 2k in comps, min 1.5k
So it seems like I did get stiffed. At least I know what I should be expecting so I can ask for it next time. Thanks for the help.
I have since received several email offers from the Bellagio, all for offers to events. This is an example of one I received on April 1st: Is this good for my level of play? And does this mean RFB? Thanks!
That level of slot play should warrant a big upfront offer next time. Frankly, $100k+ coin in on SLOTS (not VP) should have seen every single charge back to your room comped off. They know you are not leaving a winner.
I am really annoyed now. I still haven't received anything from the Bellagio in the mail (although I have received mail from NY-NY) and I just emailed my host to arrange a trip in mid august. All I was offered by my host was 4 nights comped (He didn't mention room type yet, but asked if I wanted king or 2 queens so resort room??!???) and $150 food and beverage per day. I feel like I am really being lowballed here. Should I contact a different host at Bellagio? Or maybe even at a different property such as Aria?
Tom, you may want to try MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay or Mirage. My experience is with tables, not slots, but I have found Aria to be stingier than Bellagio.
You're off by a factor of 10 on the Express Comps. If all the Tier Credits were from progressives, then a base point, $.01 in Express Comps, and 10 Tier Credits are $10 coin-in. That means 1 Tier Credit per $1 coin in. So $67,682 coin-in to get 67,682 Tier Credits. 6,768 base points Once he got to 25,000 Tier Credits and $25.00 in Express Comps, he would have started getting a $0.001 (one tenth of a cent) bonus on his Express Comps, which would have boosted them by $0.001 per base point ($0.001 * 4,268 base points), or $4.27. So $25.00 in Express Comps for the first $25,000 coin in, and $46.95 on the next $42,682 coin in, for a total of $71.95. Anybody who earns $670 in Express Comps in one trip by any method of gaming already shouldn't be paying for anything. But I agree you should always try to get everything up front.
