    Last question I promise!!
So I've decided to save the cash and stay somewhere cheaper ...

TI or Excalibur? The price difference is $75.
TI includes Mystere tickets that I'm not sure we'll use.

I know there's construction at TI

I'd choose Excal just for the location. I like the south strip way more than the north.

I've been looking at maps, what is within easy walking distance up there?
I have only ever stayed in the south and I do like everything around there too

We stayed at Luxor and enjoyed our stay. We walked through Excaliber and were NOT impressed. From what I have read on the forum since January not many give Excaliber a positive review.
What about Monte Carlo or NYNY? They are a bit more centrally located on the strip for you. Both are usually cheaper than Mirage (which you considered at one point) but a bit above Excaliber.
You can use Google maps satellite to just about walk the strip. It will give you a good idea of distances and locations of entrances construction etc.

Monte Carlo and NYNY are $150 more for our dates
The next reasonable one is Luxor ($25 more then Excal) or TI ($75 more)

    How was Luxor?

TI is a much nicer hotel, Luxor and Excalibur are some of the worst dumps on the entire strip. Also the location will also factor in what you prefer, north strip is much nicer but as you can see some people prefer staying south strip. But TI will for sure be in a better location if you prefer to casino hop and visiting mid strip.

TI had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, although Excalibur's was comfortable too. I don't consider Excalibur a dump and I like its location better than TI.

I think Excalibur is on the same par as Circus Circus. PLEASE stay somewhere else. You have made a HUGE change in accommodations going from Mirage to the "trashy castle".

Have you ever gotten a card from a Harrahs property? If so, log in and check their rates. You usually can't beat their deals.

Good Summary. I rarely venture south beyond PHo/Cosmo on the Strip (MGM Grand is the exception) and love the TI location.

TI is near the best Strip properties (Wynn/Encore, Mirage, Venetian/Palazzo) and you're also close to center Strip properties (Caesars, Bellagio). TI is a decent mid-tier property, the rooms are far better than Excalibur. The casino is better as well. TI has limite ddining options, but they are better than Excalibur's McDonalds/Krispy Kreme options.

For $75 ($25/day? not sure how many days make up the $75 price difference), it's a no brainer. For $75 difference per day, then you would have a legitimate decision to make.

TI for sure. We have stayed at Luxor on our last three trips. While we have enjoyed the accommodations (You must stay in a tower room) we have found the clientele to be a bit sketchy. Excalibur is even worse. The south strip is love or hate. We enjoy it in the winter when we don't venture outside much, but prefer the mid or north strip in the nicer weather.

TI is def on another level and if you can score Mystere' tix do it!!! I have seen the show 3x and its still at the top of my list.

TI. Mystere is very good. Also, you're right beside Mirage, across from Wynn and the Venetian and the Fashion Show mall is right next door.
