Mirage?

I'm totally on the fence about where to stay. This will be my first trip back in 10 yrs and it will be totally different since I have my 70 yr old mother with me (surprise trip for her) She is very mobile but still can't walk tons and tons like a 30 something year old (me)

I really liked south strip last time I was there, NYNY, MGM etc were all my speed.

However for this trip I'm on the fence about where to stay.

The choices are the following:
Mirage
MGM
Flamingo
TI

Those are just the hotels I think she MAY like, however MGM I've heard is a lot of walking just to get to the strip ...

thoughts or input of any kind would be soooo helpful
I've done tons of research and just need to book it already lol

Mirage always gets my vote. Too much construction around Flamingo. TI is kinda shambly. MGM is nice, lots to do, but I (we) just love the Mirage

 

I'd check out Ceasar's. Since this would be her first time, and you don't want her to have to walk 100 miles a day, it would be a good location. She would enjoy Mirage's dolphin pool and the volcano. Then close by are the Bellagio fountains, Miracle Mile, Madame Toussad's Wax Museum, Ceasar's Forum shops, gondola rides at Venetian, Paris, etc. If it absolutely MUST be from those 4, I'd pick Flamingo, for the same reasons.

If you'll look this area up on Google Maps, it clearly shows where everything is.

I do NOT recommend a Grand Canyon Tour, unless you could tolerate spending 12 hours sitting on a bus watching a stupid movie like "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" and 2 hours looking at the canyon.

 

She has been before a couple times but not in years.
Mirage does sound like a good location.

I personally liked the South end where I could walk out of my hotel and hop on the deuce.

But I'm thinking she may want to be around the quieter crowds and we can just go visit the South end

Hell, she could walk 100 miles a day without leaving the Caesars building.

 

Mirage is prob your best bet. We've gone with people that have had some mobility issues and that is where I would recommend if you are not going to get a scooter. Btw, scooters are easily rentable! I think MGM and Caesars are just too big. There is a lot of walking to get anywhere just inside the building. With Mirage, you can stay there, take the shuttle train to ti, or walk across the street to many different places. Don't forget to request a room at check in as close to elevators as possible, at whatever casino you decide on

Yes. There is a light directly in front of Mirage. Harrahs is on the other side closely surrounded by many others

 

Thanks, I'm really on the fence between Mirage or TI since they are side by side and I don't anticipate spending a lot of time in the actual hotel.

TI is $100 cheaper and includes 2 x Mystere tickets, I'm researching trying to find out how bad the hotel really is since it is right next door to a $250 savings.

 

If money is an issue then stay at ti. We stopped in there last year for what we thought would be a quick walk thru and ended up staying and playing for hours.

 

Its been quite some years since i stayed at either casino but the hotel standard is pretty similar imo. The big plus for mirage is the pool area but if you don't plan on spending much time at the pool i would go with TI if its priced better. Also the Mystere is excellent and TI is really easy to get in and out of. Also super easy to tram right over or just walk since they are so close. Don't have any info on the construction and how much of a disturbance it is but i would try to find out and factor that into the decision as well.

 

Can you get out the front doors of TI right now and walk down to Mirage? I know there's a tram too to Mirage

Really we will just be sleeping there... I doubt we will play at our home casino much .. I prefer playing at NYNY but my Mom will not want to stay in that area ... especially since it's fight weekend

 

Fight weekend??? Then take your mom to Planet Hollywood or hit up the club for some bottle service!

Just teasing. I'd go for TI due to the savings and the Mystere tickets. I really liked Mystere. Plus it's close to the Wynn which is really nice and the Fashion Show mall. The nice thing about Vegas is there's always a place to stop and sit and people watch so you can eventually make your way down to the Bellagio or even NYNY.

 

Haha you know she's totally into the party scene even at her age, she loves talking to people and have a good time! She's a cool Mom but doesnt want to hike the lobby of MGM to get out the front door lol

TI or Mirage, that is the question. People are leaning towards Mirage it seems on this board

 

I have a few answers, but it would change based on where you think you would be spending most of your time. You mentioned playing at NYNY, so maybe you are part of the MLife players?

She doesnt like the "city" hotels. NYNY, Paris etc. I think her taste is more "old vegas" Flamingo, Mirage, etc

I'm just assuming she won't care for the area and like the Mirage area better.

She actually just informed me that if she ever had the chance she wouldn't care where she stayed since she loves the nightlife and doesnt care!
