Getting ready to book my room for the pac man fight. My friends are in. Next thing I need to do is e-mail my host.

What rooms do you prefer? I am only getting the standard double room. I was thinking Encore since they are bigger rooms.

    Any opinions??

Much prefer Encore. The rooms are bigger and I like the vibe better. Also love that you don't have to schlep your luggage through the casino to get to the elevators.

We just got back and stayed at Wynn and we loved the room. We stayed Sunday thru Wednesday and whenever I walked over to the encore casino it was dead compared to the Wynn casino. I asked the dealers and they said that the encore reAlly stays busy with the young crowd till very early in the morning on the weekends but not during week.

    Wynn.

Less of a chance of bass noise from nightclubs in your room until dawn. Newer, more attractive rooms. Much better gambling conditions. And I prefer the vibe.

Plus, I once had an Encore room where the shower leaked something awful...

I really like the Wynn side of the casino. Great crowd. I stayed there a few weeks ago for my first time. They treated me well.

The Encore is nice, but too red along with the young crowd. The rooms look a little bigger. Not too sure. Either way, I'll be doing my gambling on the Wynn side. Great vibe.

I like Encore better for a few reasons even though both are great. Its much quieter on the Encore side and not as busy and for me thats an advantage since i usually do longer stays(+10days). Its only a short walk away if i want to hit the Wynn casino. I also prefer their rooms and pool area over Wynn not to mention the spa who is much nicer on the Encore side. Also for me its great to have Society Cafe right there since its my favourite breakfast within the resort.

Wynns advantage is that its location is closer to the Venetian/Palazoo and also have a busier casino floor if thats what you prefer.

I've stayed in both double rooms at each property. Encore's are bigger and nicer. You can't go wrong with either though, both are very nice. I'd pick Wynn just for that much less of a walk to the strip (it does add up). The positive about both - you walk off the elevators and are staring at the craps tables, for me it can't get much better lol.

Carve...if I'm not mistaken, I think all the std double bed rooms are facing north at Encore so shouldn't be any noise there. Not such a great view though so I'd agree that the renovated Wynn double room would probably be better.

I did not know that. Good info, Dino. Thanks!

BTW...did you miss your spring trip? I thought you were supposed to be out there around this time?

We used to go in the spring and then my wife started going to Matzatlan in late April w/ her mom and aunt and sometimes her sister. She needs to spread her vacation time out at work so we went a couple of times in June and then again in late Aug or early Sept but my daughter is getting married in Apr 2015 so we decided to just go in the late summer/early fall this year. Man...I had no clue how expensive weddings are...you could have one helluva Vegas trip let me tell you!:drunk:

I like the Wynn vibe better by far, but the Encore standard rooms are noticeably bigger. It's an interesting walk from one to another--since Encore opened I have stayed there. I likely won't be back any time soon since I zero played them last time.

It's a toss up. You can't go wrong with either. The walk between them is so short that I can't really judge the casinos against each other.

I do give a slight nod to Encore however since they give you access to another 2 pools that Wynn guest can't visit.

Both are offering 25% off for bookings more than 60 days out!

Looks like cool place...above my budget though - especially when traveling with brother and not wife!

Are those things that look like balconies right by the strip actually cabanas for the pool?

Not sure what you are referring to but Wynncore doesn't have any balconies (at least not on the level that they could be cabanas).

Yeah it for their dayclub Encore Beach. The regular pool complex is on the other side of the hotel.

I have stayed at both but it's been a few years. Since that time the Wynn rooms have been renovated.I liked the Encore rooms better but it's not like the Wynn rooms are not great. I also liked the late night walk from the Wynn poker room to Encore. It's a nice way to unwind.

    The Encore.

LOVE the casino. There is hardly anyone there especially around the early mornings on a weekday.

For the restaurants I like the Wynn side better.

I just received an offer for 3 free nights, $300 in free play and 2 buffet passes. On the offer email it said "when calling to reserve, ask about our complementary upgrade to an Encore resort suite king". I called a made the reservation for the encore....I hope it's the right one, but I get the feeling from this thread's replies that both are very nice properties/rooms and it will not make a difference!!!

Go for an Encore Tower Suite on a high floor. You won't be disappointed.

I've stayed at Encore and love the casino there. Smaller and more intimate. Love the Wynn also but I'd rather have my room at Encore.
