Hello group. I have narrowed down my list to 3 properties. My decision was based on reviews and suggestions on this board as well as cost. Also, these particular hotels seem to have good food options. Especially the MGM. I thought I could stretch a bit into the Aria or the like but I just cant drop 50 bucks every time my stomach growls so places with cheap dining are in.

I am looking at a Tower spa suite (MGM), Marquis suite (NYNY) and Im not sure for the Mirage. Something under 200 a night. We are staying for 5 days this fall so pools wont matter. Out of these what do you like and why?

Ive read that the MGM draws a young crowd is that correct ? We are in our forties so I guess I dont want to be surrounded by 20 somethings that are out of mommy and daddys house for the first time.

The Mirage seems to be the most dated , true ? Still a nice place ? It seems to have the least amount of food options of the three. Is that correct ?

How do the casinos compare ?

I appreciate the input. We just want to have fun and that's hard not to in Vegas but I would really like your opinions on the properties. Thanks again:beer:

Never stayed at any of those places but gambled at all and my fav is MGM, with NYNY a close second. I love the big casino at MGM while others hate it for that reason. I'd say it draws people of all ages, you won't be surrounded by nothing but 20 year olds.

I find the Mirage to be significantly better than NYNY, just a better property all around. NYNY is ok, but I wouldn't put it in Mirage's league. I'll be staying at MGM next week, I'll compare it to MGM when I get back.

I would go with MGM or Mirage way before I would go to NYNY. I stay at both regularly and the rooms are much better than NYNY. The casino vibe is also much better at MGM and Mirage. Overall, I like the casino vibe at MGM better. Food is also better at MGM.

MGM is awesome! I don't know that the crowd would bother you. The nightclub is WAY at the end of the gigantic property by the strip, they kinda congregate there. I'm younger, but i don't party, and I wasn't bothered by them. MGM was redone top to bottom! It's pretty hard to pass up. The only con to MGM really is it's size. It's really big. But they have a great selection of cheap eat including a food court, which is helpful.

NYNY is a step down and outdated compared to the other 2. The rooms are outdated. I enjoyed their casino, good vibe. I went there on my last trip. (My friend wanted to play their $10 Pai Gow table). Lots of cheap eats as well. I would stay here if the price was right, but I wouldn't pick it over the other two...

Mirage is nice, I don't like their casino that much, low ceilings. No cheap quick-eats there really either. The rooms were updated a few years ago. You'd probably get similar quality experience here as you would at MGM. Personally I prefer MGM's location.

Bottom line, I can't see why you wouldn't be happy with MGM!! :)

MGM places the Mirage and MGM Grand on the same level. NYNY is on Monte Carlo's level.

Personally, I'd stay at NYNY or MGM. Both are great places. The rooms are nicer at MGM but I like the vibe of NYNY (MGM is good too though). I'd stay at whichever is cheaper as they are literally a 2 minute walk across the bridge from each other. So if you could save a few bucks and stay at NYNY, you will have easy access to all of the food/casino at MGM. If they are about the same price, I'd stay at MGM.

I'd be interested in trying the MGM, but can't get it close enough for the Flamingo - I realize you are not asking about the Flamingo...just my thoughts.

I have stayed at the Mirage - with my wife and it was a great room!

    NYNY--not so nice.

MGM--recently renovated rooms, great food options from MCD to Joel Robuchon and everything in between. No 20something dominance, there is something for everyone. Vibe is usually very energetic. Downside is it's huge. If food quality and variety is a big factor this is by far your best choice.

Mirage--probably best location. Decent/good rooms. Casino vibe has been in decline for a while. Still a pretty nice place but food is a weakness now, everything kind of upper middle blah but pricey for what it is.

Frankly I would go with MGM given these choices.

I've stayed many times in the NYNY, and I really like it there. The Location is perfect - okay the same goes for MGM. You have great food option in NYNY, and the dueling pianos at the Time Squere Bar is just a great place to have fun.
The only thing that sucks a bit at NYNY, in my opinion, is the pool area - way too small for so many Hotel rooms... but anyway you said you will be there in fall, so pool doesn't matters.

    Cheers!

It's weird to see all the hate for NYNY. Rooms are not bad like people say and the casino vibe is awesome

I agree with everything Heather said.

    I'll add a couple thoughts.
MGM is large but very well signed .I was able to get oriented very quickly on my first stay there.

Mirage does not have the best dining options from low to high end.
MGM has a great selection from food court to ultra high end dining.

I do like the location of the Mirage but everything else about the MGM is better.

I have stayed at all three and I would rank them:
    MGM
    Mirage
    NYNY a distant third.
I would not stay at NYNY again.
