What is your favorite Las Vegas hangover breakfast? Where do you get it? Why is it fabulous?

For which publication are you writing this?

Not that I've EVER had a hangover, but if by chance it happened, I'd think the chile verde omelet at Omelet House Summerlin would tag the base, particularly now that Mary's Hash House has closed.

If you're looking for a place a tourist will actually visit, just read posts on Peppermill and Hash House A Go Go. Also, the line at McD's in the morning certainly has its share of hungover folks.

I do not tend to get those "toxic hangovers" like I did 30 years ago.

But sometimes I do start drinking just a wee bit earlier in Las Vegas than I might have done at home. And perhaps I drink a wee bit longer. Then I go to bed realizing that I had about 6 to 8 drinks during the day.

So, in the morning I don't feel too super-duper.

That's when I will wander over to the D Grille, DuPars, Magnolia at 4 Queens, etc. and I order scrambled eggs, hash browns, water and coffee. Now, here's my magic trick. Instead of putting sugar into my coffee, I put in an airline bottle of Kahlua.

That gives me just enough mild food, fluid & caffeine to give me a little kickstart.

The Kahlua has the same amount of alcohol as 1/2 jigger of vodka. Just a tiny bit of hair of the dog.

I agree. If I'm really hungover or borderline drunk from the night (morning) before, I'm not going to be too picky. A cheap buffet/diner sounds great. Along with a little hair of the dog, Viva Las Vegas.

My favorite hangover meal is the Oxtail soup special at the California Market St cafe; served 11 pm til 9 am. Price is $9.99. You get a big bowl of the soup and small sides of fresh cillantro and fresh ground ginger to add to the soup. You also get a small side dish of steamed white rice. I usually have this meal late at night as a hangover preventative remedy. Works every time.

Breakfast? It's been years since I've had a hangover, but I certainly never felt like eating, looking at, or even thinking about food until it went away!

Since I'm always at Encore these days...If it's a hungry hang over and not a puking hangover; eggs, bacon and crispy hashbrowns at the Society Cafe.

For the "just feeling a little foggy" hangover, a double shot espresso mocha from the Lobby Bar will do the trick....maybe 2:licklips:

What about those oxygen bars? That offer a hangover cure? Anyone tried one? Did it work for you? Just curious.

Great thread! I have a feeling I'm going to need a hangover breakfast or 2 this weekend for MM. I love loco moco. Is there anywhere on the strip to find it?

When we used to stay at the Mirage all the time, we would walk over to the mall at Caesar's and they always had a gal in there that ran an oxygen bar and for a small fee you could sit at the bar and breathe flavored oxygen and she'd give you a back rub. The oxygen definitley helped clear the alcohol from your blood.

Funny story....when we lived out by Seattle and used to boat out there, there was a guy who owned a local used car business who did pretty well and he had a 44' trawler that he was out on quite a bit and he always kept an oxygen bottle on board and you'd see him w/ a mask clearing his head on Sat and Sun mornings :drunk:
