    My Trip Report

I have no idea if I'm going to write a traditional trip report so I thought I'd post some highlights for you.

Air-hotel-rental; Nothing to brag about, it was an expensive time to go. I think I did about as well as I could have. Direct flight Detroit to Vegas and back. We got hosed by Baymont Inn by the airport in Detroit. Parking was supposed to be included but ended up costing $70. Got a butter yellow Chevy Sonic or Spark which was fun to drive.

Bally's; We ended up with Indigo tower, 14th floor, pool view. We were on a Diamond floor last time so I was a bit pouty. But, that's probably as good as I was going to get that weekend.

Golden Nugget; Carson tower, 18th floor, strip view. We loved it and will stay there again. The 3rd level pool, shark tank and water slide were awesome. My husband isn't a pool person and he enjoyed himself.

Buffets; Circus Circus dinner-didn't die. Fremont lunch-didn't die. Mirage-dinner pretty good but I'm not a wine or beer drinker. MSS dinner-pretty good. Golden Nugget lunch-pretty good. Aria brunch-service was awful, food was OK, not worth the money.

Restaurants; Ellis Island coffee shop breakfast/lunch/dinner-always awesome. Magnolia's at 4 Queens (coffee shop) prime rib dinner-always awesome. Peppermill lounge late night nachos-very good but too much food for 2 people. Paris burger place-dang tasty burger. Bally's Sidewalk Cafe-probably good but I was very hung over and picked at my food. LVH's coffee shop-good food and good value. Golden Gate Dupar's-soup and half sandwich at the counter was very good.

Shows; Raiding the Rock Vault-awesome. Meant to hit some lounges and a few other shows and it just didn't happen.

Gambling; lost my live blackjack virginity at Casino Royale, that dealer-less craps slot machine looking thing, penny to quarter slots, quarter vp which I still suck at, dealer-less roulette and live roulette. We're very low micro rollers but we did gamble more than usual.

This trip was a little different for us. My brother and his wife stayed at NOBU from the 6th to the 9th and we celebrated his birthday on the 6th. We met up for a few meals, drinks and shopping. But, otherwise they kind of did their own thing. I had low expectations but I think it went OK. We'll see if we do it again.

Sorry you didn't get the Diamond Floor. We've got it a few times booking the old South tower and using the $20 trick. Other than it being higher up, it was no big deal to me. The $20 was mostly to get out of the South Tower. Guess I don't have to worry about that anymore.

And on that gambling portion, did you lose your virginity to all of that? Or just live blackjack?

Just the live blackjack virginity. The diamond floor rooms have more and nicer toiletries and the coffee maker but the room is the same otherwise.
