i bet minimum, low odds, and i rarely shoot. i bet pass line when it's hot and
don't pass it starts to get cold. i manage to stay for 8 hours, with my original buy-in, never having to add additional buy-in, sometimes breaking even , and leaving when i lose $50. would i get a good comp rating?

Depends on where you play but probably not. MGM property dealers have told me they don't rate you unless you have at least $15 and sometimes $25 in action not including odds.

You may do better downtown or off strip but nobody is going to roll out the red carpet for you.

Yeah if you're just playing the do or don't with no other bets in action you'll get little to no comps. Agreed that downtown/off strip would be the places to try.

Based on your information; no, I don't think you'll get a good comp rating. Betting minimum, which I would think would be $5.00, only on pass or no pass you'd be lucky they rate you at all. Casinos don't usually count the odds bets toward rating a player.

As was mentioned earlier, $20 or more on the felt will start getting their attention, with better chances Downtown.

I'd say no, not anywhere in Vegas.
I'm an avid player off-strip and downtown, and playing $5 pass + 2x odds, PLUS a similar come bet ($30 action at all times)...ive gotten ZERO from downtown & offstrip (and I play for a few hours each time)
If you want comps on craps, bet $54 across at ALL TIMES....or else don't even bother handing in your clubcard (I've quit giving my card when playing craps, as all it does is screw up my ADT)

How does it affect the ADT?
Even if you don't get rated I assume it shows you are at least gambling as opposed to nothing getting documented.

It does, trust me. At Boyd at least...they separate tables vs slots...as the last trip I put in $50k coin-in ($25k two days in a row) and I played a few minutes at the crap table..
Then I emailed a host and he said "Your play is too low for anything; you need $75 average." I told him I am NOT a table game player.
At MLife I'd imagine it's different (never played tables at any MGM Prop) because it seems like everyone gets good comps from them...
But CET and Boyd both HURT your ADT via table-play (if you have a decent ADT via slots)

There's so many factors that affect comps at craps tables, heck, sometimes it all depends if the pit critter is in a good mood. This is definitely the case with red chip players.

I've seen old Hawaiian men at the Boyd properties downtown take out markers of 1K and 2K, lose it in 20 minutes and take out markers again. After a while I see them complain that they are hungry. (They are playing green chips, by the way). Next thing you know the pit critter is writing out a voucher for him and his wife for the Redwood Grill at the Cal.

No such thing for us red chip players. All I ever got was a smile, a wink, and "Thank you for playing, sir, please come again....."

Oh, but I did get a shitload of beers for free, lol!

Table game rating can be very subjective. They'll note how much you buy in for an your "average" bet and that's the subjective part. It's easier to control at blackjack, start off with higher bets, reduce them when the PB isn't around and jack them back up when he's paying attention. In the middle of the day without much pit action that's harder to do, but on a weekend when the place is packed it's easy. Works similar in craps. The PB will most likely watch how you bet at first so get that pass line bet up there and cover as many numbers are you can afford to comfortably. You can always reduce your bets when he's not around. But it's still very subjective.

When in Vegas, my game is craps. I agree with the other posters that you will get little or no rating for that type of action. I will play off-strip for several hours each trip, usually at $5 tables (because I like to advantage of being able to have more odds). I never receive any offers from them; I think they give slot players the comps.

On the Strip, most casinos will ignore your play unless you have at least $30 in action (excluding odds).

Isn't that a red flag to the casino that you may be card counting???

Not if the big bets correlate with the presence of the pit boss instead of the big cards left in the shoe...

Bigger question is: How do you manage to stay awake that long playing like this?

I have found that it is less pricey to place a 25 $ or series of 5 $ bets on the field and if a winner to pocket it as a comp. Otherwise I find myself playing beyond my initial plan in an effort to qualify for the comps at he craps table. If I lose my field bet (or whatever bet I designate as my "comp" bet) so be it.

Obviously many times you play at the level to achieve comp status but then end up losing 75 $ more than anticipated and acquire a 25 $ meal.......and obviously you can win at the higher level. Whatever works for for you.

For myself as a low roller, craps comps are practically nil. I play this game because I love it and I play to win. I derive a lot of entertainment from playing this game, it's one of the few in the casino that's exciting, fun, and highly social between players and dealers/pit crew.

I was never offered comps for food while playing but got a ton of free drinks offered. And the "free room" deals and food vouchers/promos never stop coming in the mail.

That's good enough for me. Vegas is my fun place.
