wynn casino hosts

hi guys just wandering if any of you guys have had any good or bad experiences with anyone in particular with the hosts at the wynn?

i have a host who i contact via email who can be hit and miss with replying, understandably i am from the uk so i don't expect an email back straight away but i feel things like emails when trying to book and organise trips should be answered at least within a couple of days.

sorry for the little rant just seeing if any of you guys have any hosts at the wynn that you can recommend and are good with getting back to you?

 

had three host that have left my home casino Caesars, the one with initials P.H. is a dud but Al.R. is good and A female host N.S>was good. Al went to Wynn before they opened.

 

I used to have a good one at Wynn, but he left the company. My current one (Donna) is terrible. So bad, that I sent her an email last week asking her to please take care of the charges that she said she was going to and later in the same email letting her know that I was going to ask her supervisor for a different host.

She then called me and said she was sorry, she was always so busy, she needed an assistant.....yada yada yada.

evoni has a good one--and I'm going to use hers going forward. I'd suggest you pm evoni and ask her for the name.

I would love to be able to recommend the one we have been using for the last year, but I've reached my last nerve........

 

For those of you who are mid-level or higher slot players I have a excellent host at Wynn and I highly recommend him. I've asked him tonight if I can post his information in a reply on the board and he said it was fine with him. However, before I do this is it against the vegasmessage board's rules to do this? Does anyone know?

 

Evoni - Just curious, at the Wynn what minimum level of play is typical in order for a slot host to be interested in working with you? I know you need roughly 5,000 points a day for a comped room. Thanks.

 

If you are doing 6000 points or more a day at Wynn/Encore a host will be interested in working with you.

I'm not sure about all casinos but M-Life and some others seem to separate hosts into slot host and table game hosts though I'm sure there is some cross over since some gamblers do both.

Can anyone help with how to deal with potentially leaving my current host? Do I simply contact Edward, or do I request the change through a supervisor? I obviously don't have a close relationship with the current host, so I don't feel obligated to contact her.

It varies depending on the casino group. Regarding Wynn and Edward I posted the information mainly for those who don't currently have a Wynn host. It gets a little stickier when you are trying to switch unless you a very good reason to give their boss for switching or have already met the host in person you want to switch to and feel they are a much better fit for you.

When I switched to Edward, I had to write to a supervisor but I had a great reason for switching in that my previous host had quit, they assigned me randomly to one I didn't know and I asked to be re-assigned to Edward because my friends had him as host and I knew him already.

Just so I understand this correctly, it only takes 6000 points a day to get on a hosts radar at the Wynn? And its $1.50 coin in per point? So $9,000 coin in per day? Wow, I never expected it to be that low!

That will get you a host and usually a comped room, unless it's a popular time period like New Year's Eve. To get extras like limo, food/beverage it will be more points per day. I usually suggest to everyone that when they contact a host to ask them up front what amount of play they expect for the comps you expect from the property you play at. That way everyone is on the same page.

 

One word of caution for VP players...Wynn over-estimates theoretical loss into their calculations now. Not only do full-pay machines earn points at a slower rate ($15/pt) but even earning respectable amounts of points in a day doesn't get you much anymore. I used to concentrate my play to 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.12% return, but not classified by Wynn as having a reduced earning rate, it earns at $6/pt) and earn 12-15,000 points per day. I was normally Tower Suites with $200-300/day in F+B credit and all charges taken care of on the backend. At the end of my last stay a couple years ago, my host (AR) told me he couldn't cover any charges beyond what I had come in on. I had one day on that visit that I racked up $250k coin-in. I told him that seemed very odd to me since my expected loss for just that one day exceeded all my charges for the trip. He said formulas had changed and his hands were tied. My offers since then having dropped to Sun-Thur rooms and $300 freeplay....which coincidentally is the same offer my wife gets. She maybe has played a few hundred dollars coin-in per trip. I would estimate that Wynn treats VP as having a very conservative theo loss, probably .5% or less. That's the only way I could explain how $300-400k coin-in over 3 nights would get me so little comped in return.

PS: About 7 months ago I decided to give them another shot. I went in, earned a little more than 12,000 points in a day, losing $3k in the process, and waited to see if my offers improved. They didn't.

 

Holy smokes that is brutal. 250k in one day even at half a percent house is still $1250.

 

Well, based on captainjack's post, I wonder if it really would be worth trying to switch hosts... Seems like it is a vp issue, since that is most of my play. Going to wynn next week so will post any news.
