By far the best write up on the linq. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Cool. Has anyone been to the places that are open? How is it?

I was there last weekend. Loved it. Was staying at Bally's. Weather was OK (mid 60's), so I placed some NCAA bets and went to the linq to hang out, watch the games, and have some beers. Just a nice space to spend some time outdoors. a handful of the restaurants are open, including Yard House. The new O'Sheas has a small outdoor bar with two TV's set up. The indoor area of O'Shea's has two long bars, loaded with VP and TV's. And the casino at the Quad is coming along nicely. It actually has a pretty cool vibe.

All-in-all, it's really added something nice to the north end of the strip.

I consider the North end of the Strip from Wynn/FSM up to Sahara Blvd, with the Linq, TI, Venitian, Planet Hollywood mid Strip, and City Center to Mandalay Bay south Strip.
But i agree, the Linq area looks very promising and can't wait to go in 2 months.
I will also be at Bally's then and hopefully the High Roller will open a week earlier, after all, i have some connections to CET.

Wow, great link. I had no clue how many new shops and things were going to be opening - I just assumed it was mostly about the high roller.

    Thanks for posting it.

The high roller is the only thing I'm interested in. Everything else there I could care less about.

Going to a concert at Brooklyn Bowl on April 20, I was trying to find information about the new area. Thanks for postiing the article, Westie.
Does anyone know if you can access the Linq end (back?) by coming up from Flamingo? We're staying at Bally's.

Yea, I went a few weeks ago. Not everything was open... But, it's like wow they spent a billion dollars for more Starbucks and slushy drink stores? There was nothing original or different in there. Almost all those stores are in the Forum Shops or any other mall on the strip. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't exciting. I guess the best part is it's right there, no 3 mile walk through a hotel to get to it.

The coolest thing was their marquee, wow that thing is impressive.

I agree, I don't really understand the retail aspect. You have Forum Shops across the street, Venetian shops a few lots down, and Fashion Show across from that. Why bother? They should've recruited a variety of different bars. Maybe a Hofbrauhaus on the strip, and non-chain bars with different concepts and a focus on alcohol instead of it being a restaurant. The Linq could've been the site of awesome bar crawls and they would've kept people lodged between the Quad and Flamingo's casinos.

Instead now it seems like an outdoor version of the Street of Dreams at Monte Carlo with a spot to grab an overpriced beer like the Pub (who I believe changed their 2 for 1 beer special). You walk through because it is there but I can't see myself telling my buddies to meet at Yard House. That fedora store will really bring in the masses ;) grab a latte next door at Starbucks, you are in Vegas!

Probably something I'll walk through once, go on the High Roller once and be done with it. Although if BB has some good acts that would be great.
